“I still wish he hadn’t agone,” Hamfast repeated. “Then he could kiss my cut finger and make it better, like Daddy and Mummy do. I bet it would get better much faster if he kissed it, too.” Oh, the affect on and the love Frodo inspired even on those who had never met him face to face, but still know him because one loved him so. This is so sweet. Happy Easter, dear Larner. The queen told me this would be a wonderful story and I wish I could read it all now but I must get to sleep! Christ is Risen! He is truly Risen! Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: He is Risen indeed! Alleluia! Yes, I think you'll like this one. Sam would have raised his and Rosie's children in awareness of the love their absent Uncle Frodo held toward them, I'm certain; and as they became aware that their father's reverence for Frodo was mirrored in the hearts of the other Travellers and those of their families I think that the children would have come to see Frodo as one with special gifts, such as the ability to truly heal owies with a kiss. Rest well and prepare for what life gives you.

What a charming family scene 1 Author Reply: I'm honored you find it so, Linda. Thank you.

Oh, how I want this could have been true, Frodo being there with them and just doing what Sam is describing ... *sigh* They certainly aren’t the only ones to wonder what would have been different. Author Reply: I, too, wish this had could have happened, as does, I'm certain, Sam. But if Frodo had stayed, would he have been ever able to accomplish such things?

Thank you so much for this lovely glimpse of Sam and his children. Sam has done a beautiful job of instilling a love of Frodo into the hearts of each of them. Sam's description of how Frodo would have interacted with the children is so much in keeping with the way I imagine Sam would describe such events that I can vividly hear his voice as he speaks. I'm off to read the next chapter. Author Reply: Oh, I'm so glad you can hear that voice, too. I think they'd grow up with an understanding of just how much their father and mother, and especially their father, was devoted to Uncle Frodo.

Aw. This is wonderful, on its own. No time to read more, but loved the Prologue. Author Reply: The lasses have you running, do they? Am thinking of coming down while my daughter is there for training--perhaps this weekend if all goes well and I can get a day off. I'll try to let you know if I can make it. Author Reply: And I'm glad you appreciate this on its own merits. Thanks!

Oh this is a lovely chapter in itself Larner. And presages far more I hope. Author Reply: Thank you, Harrowcat. And I hope this will not disturb too many folk.
