| You were nervous about the story with Drogo and Frodo? But why? Actually that was the part I liked most! Drogo's imitation of his son was very funny and inventive. And Frodo found out that he did not intend to make fun about him. He was just happy to be together with his son again. I also liked Rorimacs diplomatic way to tell his sons a bedtime story and Saradoc calling Frodo Merry's brother. The last part made me grin! "Good night, Dad," Pippin whispered and rested his head on his shoulder. "I will chase away your fever." That's our little Pip! He's really endearing, but sometimes he can get on your nerves with his neverending chatter ;-) Author Reply: Well, the Drogo and Frodo story was the one I feared might turn out superficial or... childish, in a way, presenting both Frodo and Drogo in a way that is not really them. But then I assumed that Drogo might tease his son by immitating him and still remain the respectable hobbit I see in him. But it was still making me nervous. *grins* Yes, Rory knew how to deal with his sons and Saradoc seemed to have found just the right words to say to Frodo. Pippin is darling and though I can't imagine anything than a tight bond of love between father and son, I assume that Paladin, or in fact both parents, were at times slightly unnerved by their son :) Thanks for commenting! | |

| I do like Drogo's Frodo-imitation! And Primula's reaction. But they are all very sweet - from Merimac wanting to share his brother's bed through to Pippin's garrulous care for his sick father, they are charming stories of family affection. Author Reply: Thanks a lot! I've always pictured the affection within a family as enormously strong and these snippets seemed a good way to portrait that. | |

| Oh, I love all four vignettes. And am so very glad Frodo is part of the love between Sara and Merry. I so very much loved the interaction between Frodo and his own father, and Drogo's pleading for Frodo as he did. Love is the great gift of Hobbits, I think. Author Reply: In Saradoc's heart is room for both his sons, and I think Frodo still has to learn that he has a family that loves him even though his real parents are dead. *grin* Oddly enough if was the story with Frodo and Drogo I was most nervous about. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sure love is the great gift of Hobbits, and yet there are many more hidden within them. | |
