This has been my week for discovering wonderful LOTR authors who gave up writing LOTR! (You are my second.) I adore your elflings! I can hardly wait until I have enough ink and paper to print up "Nudge". This story's ending is prophetic, I fear, so I assume Nudge might not be as lighthearted as Places. I'm sure I will enjoy them either way. I have to tell you that I have always wanted to write humorous LOTR stories, but mine sink into angst no matter what my intention. I am slightly envious of your skill in that area. It wouldnt bother me a bit for you to take up writing Legolas fics again, by the way! Grin! nautika

Oh, what a bittersweet ending. it just breaks the heart. I loved seeing this incident in full, after having read - and *thoroughly* enjoying - Nudge out the Door, especially since this was a rather formative event for all involved, especially Legolas. Great, fun story. These four as youngsters were charming, hilarious, and quite dear. monica

I thoroughly enjoyed this - Little/Young Legolas is a favorite storyline of mine, and yours is one of the few I've found, so I "saved" it for a while in order to space them out! I'm a bit of a canon-hound, so this is a time/space where writers can pretty much have rein, as JRRT didn't dot all the i's nor cross all the t's, and not bug me too much - except perhaps those who insist L is a couple of thousand years old .. oops, rant begins :) Why isn't it more popular/common setting? The "poo sticks" was delightful, nice to know there's an alternate AA Milne in Middle Earth! The adventuring elflings were so well depicted, I could see them scampering about and also the smiles exchanged by various adults as they hurtled past them .... There is, it seems to me, more than a hint of impending trouble, this trip to Moria .... Thranduil is less than keen, and Legolas seems to be having a premonition right at the end. Again, I really enjoyed this, thank you for your glimpse at the elflings at play, it will linger for a long time, I'm off to read A Little Nudge Out The Door - reserved for after this story.
