Holy cow, you're *good*! I don't think I could ever get under the skin or into the deepest thoughts of a warg and take on its character. Very excellent indeed. :-) PF Author Reply: Thank you! I never would have thought it either, without the prompt! It wasn't easy!

No downs without an up! Brother is dead - long live the new Boss Warg. But he'll do better to avoid those dangerous two-legs - despite the attraction of the sweet scent of power. Author Reply: *grin* I think the new Boss Warg has a healthy respect for the wholeness of his own hide! He'll remember how this encounter ended.

Ooo, chilling! Very interesting to do a story from the POV of a warg. God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: Well, there's a first time for everything, LOL! I don't think I'll do it again, though!

A wonderful Warg's eye view of the Fellowship. Poor "Brother". But the idea of a Ring-bearing Warg is scary indeed. Author Reply: Thanks--it was kind of hard to get into a Warg's head! But the idea of a Ring-bearing Warg is scary indeed. I don't think the wargs really knew it was The Ring, but they knew the smell of power, and like any of Morgoth's creatures, would be drawn to such evil. And I imagined the leader of the pack devouring it much like Carcharoth devoured the Silmaril--but with a somewhat different effect!

I've been following all of these pieces, and this is by far the creepiest! I love it! Author Reply: Thank you very much! 8-)

Brother is gone; and was it planned? Obviously the new leader isn't too terrifically sad to see his brother gone. Better wet and leader than dead, I suppose. Author Reply: I don't think it was exactly planned, but our POV warg was quick to take advantage! Since wargs seem to be sort of wolf-versions of Orcs, I think they'd have pretty much similar attitudes of "loyalty".

Wonderful POV!! It gives the most delightful shiver! Author Reply: Well, you know, it was really the only canon warg encounter in LotR, and we had the Fellowship's POV, so seemed to me that it would be better to try the "bad guy's" POV!
