Bravo! Bravo! I loved every word. I also like it that Pippin's ghost blushes. That gave me a chuckle every time. This was excellent and your husband was right about a big trial scene. That was very effective indeed! Author Reply: *taking bows* Thank you! It does make for a cuter ghost ;-) Hubby has had some good story ideas over the years - glad you liked it.

I printed this chapter out to take with me, to read at the hospital while I was waiting for my tests, so it was a very welcome distraction! I love what you did with my "little notion"! Wow, that was cool, and explains so much! It's kind of a shame that it's over, for there's a good deal that it would be cool to know about--such as the reactions throughout the Shire when the Truth is restored. I love the name you chose for your little group of hobbits: The Restorers! I think Jebbin and Other and their wives are kind of going to miss their ghostly friends, but of course, their visitors were on a Special Dispensation, so now that their task is done, they won't be able to return. This was a very interesting and fascinating concept, and I think you gave your readers a lot to think about. Author Reply: Glad I could be a welcome distraction :-D You often have very good "little notions"! I think they will miss the Ghosts. I know I would. Thank you so much, Dreamflower! :-)

Shame they probably won't see the ghosts again. Their lives will seem duller. Safer, but duller. And Saruman managed to cause difficulties even after his death - and corrupt hobbits. That must have given him a good deal of satisfaction! As well as giving the green-eyed hobbits something to think about! Yes, they are benevolent - but benevolence needs to be watched if it isn't to become dominance. Maybe they'll be watching themselves a little more carefully for a while! And they will all meet again - eventually! Good story! Author Reply: Thank you so much, Bodkin! Yes, the green-eyed Tooks have had need to be careful over many generations and will need to continue to do so. Any satisfaction Saruman had was short lived, for him. Good thing too as I don't think he would ever have quit making trouble for somebody somewhere.

Oh, but how appropriate an ending. Again, I'm glad that the Hobbits had managed to hold their wrath, and rejoice Rollo hadn't suffered the worst of the spell--and a right nasty curse it was, too. So--Saruman was behind it, was he? So glad Dreamflower and your hubby managed to inpire it so. The trials were wonderful. And in the end Jebbin and Other will meet the Travelers again, and I'll rejoice when that happens. As for the prize you'd promised me--I'd like to see Pippin, Merry, and Sam and their families preparing for a trip to Annuminas to spend time in the Northern Capital with their beloved Strider. Who would be concerned to see Master, Thain, and Mayor together leave the Shire? Author Reply: I'm so glad you liked it all, Larner :-) That's an interesting plot bunny! I'll let it steep and we'll see what it produces! Thank you for reading, responding and keeping me on my toes!!

*sniff, sniff*...how does one bid a most excellent story farewell? I have enjoyed this beautiful tale from the the first words until the last. Thank you so much for sharing your brilliant imagination! :-) LOL, I was sort of musing on how such malice could be passed from one generation to the next without dissipating as time went on, but you answered that question with your usual flair. All's well that ends well - and end *well*, it did! :-) Thank you so much! Pippinfan Author Reply: Thank you, dear PippinFan, for all your encouragement here and on chat. I'm so glad you enjoyed this so much :-)

Lovely story. I hope we will find out what punishment is bestowed on the Grittison and Caskbury families. Poor Rollo, I hope he is able to escape the curse entire and start a new life somewhere. I wonder how he escaped it - love for his sister overcoming the family poison? A dash of Took blood from the lasses who married into the family stifling the curse enough for Rollo to fight it when his beloved sister needed him? I'm curious to know what will happen to the younger Caskburys. The Voice of Saruman certainly explains the influence! Given how quickly the Master of Buckland seemed to strengthen himself without Longo, I wonder if the Thain is really as addled as advertised or if Grittison helped him get that way. The Restorers ought to look to Gondor for unaltered copies of the Red Book. I'm sure the folks there would be pleased to send them a copy. Either that or maybe one fell behind a bookcase in the library Pippin created at Great Smials - since he focused on books from outside the Shire its easy to imagine one copy being overlooked as future generations simply dusted the room and not read the books. Either that or a Took version of Jebiamac rebound the Thain's copy of the book and left off the title! Author Reply: The Epilogue is in the works and I hope to post it later today or tomorrow. The copy of the Red Book that was made in Gondor and sent to the Great Smials is still at the Smials, safe and sound waiting for the day when a certain English university professor finds it ;-) Thank you so much, BYU!

Beautiful, Pearl. This was a lovely, thrilling, surprising tale, and I enjoyed every bit of it. May the "restorers" keep the truth blooming, and thank you for writing! Cúthalion Author Reply: Thank you, Cuthalion, for reading, responding and all your kind words! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :-)

That was a nice ending, Pearl! And it revealed yet another well-kept secret of the Caskburys and Grittisons. That evil wizard! Like Lotho he tried to sew his seed, in a different way, of course. And time proved that Saruman's method was successful and long-living. And hadn't there been some green-eyed Tooks and some inquisitive Brandybucks the true story of the Four Travellers would have been lost forever. The Restorers smiled at each other, then Other remembered what Pippin had said. “Till we meet again!” he said with a wink. Other is indeed a Tookish Brandybuck and I hope there will follow lots of others after him! P.S.: I like the name the five hobbits were given, The Restorers, very appropriate! Thank you very much for this wonderful story Pearl! I'm looking forward to reading more :) Author Reply: You are welcome, Andrea, and thank you!! I'm so glad you enjoyed the story and that you thought the "Restorers" is a good name for the five hobbits who were the main characters. More? Who knows, I wasn't expecting this many stories out of Jebbin and Other to begin with! LOL

Pearl, this was a wonderful story. I have been following it with enthusiasm ever since you started it. I was just being very lazy by not logging in and reviewing. To be honest, I hate to see it end. I feel kind of like Other, I hate it that we won't see the ghosts again. At least Jebbin and Other have the consolation of knowing they'll meet again. I figured the power that Castbury and Grittison whelded had something to do with Saruman's voice. I love the characters you've created here. I would really like to know more about them and their later adventures, if they have any. Thanks for taking us on this grand adventure of rediscovery. Author Reply: Thank you so much, Garnet :-) It means so much that you enjoyed my OCs! At this point, I don't know if they'll be back - but then I never expected to write about them again after the first story, so who knows. Thank you for reading and for reviewing when you have :-)
