I love it! Cute title too. :) In my fourth re-read of the Red Book, I read a few days ago Frodo telling Sam "I won't budge" from the tower until Sam had something to eat and drink. Loving defiance on both sides. Ah, hobbity love... Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Hobbity love, the best kind. :-)

Aaawww! That is so Sam. Loving defiance, indeed! And the end is precious (no pun intended). God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: I've always figured that if Frodo went stubborn on him, Sam would find a way to take care of his master anyway, even if he had to resort to being sneaky about it!

Ah! Sam is such a loyal and supportive friend. I'm glad to see Gandalf appreciating him - and keeping him warm. Author Reply: Sam is always so busy giving TLC, it's about time he got some!

I love the title that goes with this Rowan! *g* Author Reply: Oh good...I was a little afraid it might be misleading and people might think it was a spoof or something.

Wonderful, Rowan! The characterisation of the three companions was perfect. "Loving defiance" - That's what Sam tries to do all the time and what makes him well-loved among his friends and among us readers! Thank you! Author Reply: He certainly knows how to get his own way with his master when Frodo is in one of his stubborn moods! :-)
