I will wrap my arms and my heart around those memories until I can wrap them around you again. Lovely Antane. Author Reply: Hantanyel, my dear! Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Oh, this gets me all choked up so that I wish I had the physical energy for tears. The imagery in this chapter is again beautiful (especially that of the wind being a kiss of farewell), and Frodo's humour in that moment of darkness startled me the first time too (and now is somehow both poignant and delightful). That's our Frodo. :) Interesting that you should describe such a dream. I actually did dream something like that once--weary Frodo and Sam walking side by side along a rough path towards darkness with a bright light beyond, and there was music in the background, either "The Road Goes Ever On" or "May It Be," I don't remember which. The irony of Sam lightly calling Frodo a "perfect little Orc" when Frodo is so opposite of that never struck me before. God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: I liked that kiss too and the fact that he could joke at such a time. :) His dream, though he knows it not, is their entrance from the West into Heaven, but I like your dream too. Sorry you are so exhausted you can't even cry - hope you are feeling better, ammelda! Namarie, God bless, Melinyel, Antane :)

Oh, I'd forgotten that little jibe, the one intended to break the tension of not knowing if they'd even get out of the tower, much less into Mordor proper. And glad Sam could feel that love there and then, for he needed it dearly. Author Reply: Hantanyel, dear Larner! I always loved what Sam said then and why he said it. He was created to do just that - to carry Frodo, emotionally and then physically, to love him enough to get him to the Fire. Namarie, God bless, Antane :)
