| Aha! this is how the Elves always appear so pristine. Now I wonder where Legolas has hidden his attendants through the films. Elrovail baffles me yet. And boy, Hrassa is cheeky. I like how you describe the fabric – oh and the fashions! How quickly do they come and go amongst Elves? Every century or two? If Celebrian continues with these shrieks, she will turn the whole household’s hair white. Celeborn’s eruption at Hrassa was rather dramatic. I liked the details of their drinking, from Laerlinath’s eyes – pitying Hrassa and worrying for her husband. Of course Hrassa does not want to be cooped up for hours with cotton-brains. You worked up the scene to be so… yes, scary. It was a great shock (or relief) that it was only Mirathel. Poor Laerlinath. I’m shaking myself. I do want to see Galadriel, and yet I rather dread it now. Mirathel’s reaction made me feel her surprise; it is sad, and why did Hrassa leave like that? I don’t know… having Valar and Maiar running around sounds exciting to me… OK, but the Elves who come back from the dead, I agree, are a little strange. More history! So many, uh, politics involved; so many tangled loyalties. But it made sense, even to me. : ) -Kitt Author Reply: Reminds me of that old joke about shouting: "Make Up!" and getting pancaked. Elrovail likes to baffle... Hrassa likes to joke around... They are both prone to laugh at people. But, Hrassa is more good-natured about it ;D Who knows how fashions change outside of court? But, inside I would think it depends on the how people want to impress. lol. Every evil brings some good with it. Remember that. It was building up, methinks. And he felt the need to stop a second incident. I thought she was being rather sanctimonious myself. ;) Although, if there were toy horses instead of dolls, maybe he could stand it for a little while. *g* Ha! She will not fail expectations... at least,I hope so, anyway. I would liken have Valar about like having the Greek gods traveling about your backyard. Much too dangerous for us plain folk. Me, I want to live in boring times! Well, I am glad you get a kick out of the history lectures. I do but I am writing this story mostly for myself. So, most people find it too dry. They want angst and romance. *sigh* Thanks for the review! | |

| I forgot to say how much I liked the idea of the scattered Laiquendi keeping track of genealogy and thus being able to express their preferences for a matrilinear line or a Telerin raised noldorin heir among so many candidates! A nice tip, that! | |

| I was sure that I had not had the time to review this, for I remember that I read it on an airport...and have been running around since then! I loved the opening section. I was expecting Galadriel, but Mirathel´s mise en scene was hilarious...and a sharp contrast in all her playful behaviour to the shock that awaited her...I really like the way you showed her, because for many chapters we have been seeing differnt reactions to Hrassa´s return, and I think that this one is the more honest, in the sense that it is the one that really let us know how deeply Hrassa´s absence must have been felt by all the rest, even if only MIrathel expressed it so openly. NOw you have me waiting in anticipation at Galadriel´s reaction! And I am loving more and more Aurthon and his wife´s pov as one of the leading povs in this tale, for their inner thoughts and their own insecurities and small family drama are an excellent side story for this very long day. I marvel that it is 18 chapters left, Redheredh, and I praise you for your talent, because to me it seems as if I knew this splendidly depicted court in all its secrets and particular ways. A wonderful, wonderful tale. Author Reply: I just glad you had a moment for yourself and we could entertain you! Everyone was expecting Galadriel. ;) "Mirathel's mise en scene was hilarious" Ha! - as long as you were not laughing at my metteurs en scene. ;P The matron's ironic sense of humor never really leaves her either, thank goodness. And, I admit to going more 'stage' then 'screen' with my scenes. I am sorry about Galadriel being so reluctant to participate, though. The next chapter is not getting polished up for posting even slowly. Ya know, I never actually meant for that couple to garner any affection from the readers. But as characters, they are good, decent, upstanding people who are climbing in precarious heights. I think I like them mostly for their bravery. Thank you, Perelleth. You are always generous with the compliments. I appreciate the boost. Oh please! 18 compared to over 40 in other author's single plotlines? But, I promise I will finish telling this story. Even if it takes years... omg, it already has! | |

| I am very glad that I know Hrassa is around and telling tales to Celebrian as she grows up - because otherwise I would be worrying that all his angry 'family' were about to cast him into the outer darkness in penalty for his abandonment of them. Mirathel is definitely Not At All Happy. And won't be until she has made Hrassa suffer visibly - and plentifully - for his sins. On the other hand, the fact that they are all so angry does indicate a care for the recalcitrant bowman - or why would they bother? I like the vision of Celeborn and Galadriel as the collision of two elemental forces. Hydrogen and oxygen - a chemical reaction essential to life. Laerlinath is learning a lot. And will soon grow up and be ready to take her place among the players. Author Reply: Well, we will find out how he got through. Galadriel still has to decide whether or not he can stay under her roof! Really now, they have not treated him that badly... Poor Mirathel tends to take things very personally. I think she gauges her own worth by how much trust people give her. It took her a while to get over Galadriel not telling about the Kinslaying, too. And Hrassa only spoke to Celebrimbor about not coming back home, it seems. But, she came around back then and probably will now. Yep, air and water, that's them. ...with Celebrimbor as fire in their triad. Hmm, you sound rather supportive of Laerlinath. ;) I promise you she does alright down the road. Mostly alright anyway Thank you so much for hanging in there and reviewing over all this time - despite the slow updates! I really appreciate it. | |

This is turning very interesting. I especially like the little reference to Celeborn and Galadriel's meeting. Do we receive futher info in this area or is this a fleeting comment? Can I use the idea/quote (Oh my, child, the Lord and Lady did not meet in Doriath!” Mirathel grinned at her puzzled expression. “Rather, they collided and were welded together by the sheer force of the impact.”)in reference to a short story that popped into my head when I read it? Please? amber Author Reply: Ah well,'tis not a mere fleeting comment. ;D I have the backstory outlined. Although, getting it written and posted is much much farther down the road. But, there will be references to that encounter in this and other tales as the subject comes up. I am very flattered that you were prompted by Mirathel's remark. You must write your story! A sensual tale of impelling passions (without any BSDM please) would be a real treat! However... I must reserved this specific quote for this character alone. For her statement has significance.
