“Feva says it’s all right then. She says being broken doesn’t matter so much if you’re loved.” Oh my! Thank God (or Iluvatar) for that little girl and her doll! Are there angels in Middle Earth? If so, that little girl was one! Now that Pippin is able to see that his kin and friends have not abandoned him as broken, he can make a new start and ask the healers for help. It's very interesting that he seeks out Parsow, and not Aragorn. Well, Parsow will know what to do and whom to ask for help, of that I'm sure! The only thing that troubles me is that "floating" sensation. That is due to the brain damage, isn't it? It must be a disturbing, frightening, even alien feeling! I really hope, Pippin will find the healing he is looking for! Author Reply: Hi, Andrea! Mallenfinnros did say to find a healer and Aragorn is a bit more than that ;-) She is a very special person indeed. Eventually I think things will get taken care of :-) Thank you so much!

Good girl, Mallefinnros. Such a good thing you turned up just then and jerked Pippin out of his bath of self-pity. Others have it worse and love is not conditional. Two very important pieces of information to chip through his self-absorption. And get him to put the knife down. I hope he manages to get himself to the Houses of Healing and Parsow. That will be better for his self-esteem than being found now and escorted to ask for help. This is his decision - and it would be a shame to have it taken from him. Author Reply: Well said, Bodkin, and thank you :-) He needs to feel he's making some of his own choices. The voice of a stranger is often the one that can reach us.

My jaw is still hanging open...lol. This is absolutely fabulous, wonderfully done! I had a hunch Pippin might feel so wretched that he might do something like what he was almost successful at. The little girl was adorable! I'd like to see another glimpse of her, that is, if your muse takes you in that direction. :-) Now I'm looking forward to the hobbit reunion and heartfelt emotions. :-) MEWD!! PF Author Reply: Aw, we got a MEWD!!!! Thank you, Pippinfan :-) Our lad came awfully close. I'm hoping you'll like what is coming!

*Steps back from the clif and breathes a sigh of relief* This was so sweet. I'm overjoyed that that sweet little girl came along when she did. And what wisdom from the mouth of a child. She really has a grasp on the concept of unconditional love. Also it was good that Pippin could see that, despite all the bad things that have happened, here was a person making the best of things. This was just beautiful. Now I'm looking forward to what Pippin can learn from Parsow. I hope I spelled his name right. I just had a really bad senior moment. I'm also really curious to see what Frodo, Merry and Sam's reaction to things is. Once again, great job. Looking froward to more. Author Reply: Thank you so much, Garnet :-) She's wise indeed :-) And I think Pippin's caring and (normally) cheery nature are helping him. I'm glad you are still enjoying this. There is indeed more to come ;-)

Poor Pippin! I'm so glad though, that he was able to talk to the little girl, and that he realized that he was not the only one hurting, and that in spite of everything, he was still loved. Sometimes children can see things very clearly indeed. The others have to be frantic, though. I hope that they soon will learn where he is. Parsow will be a big help, I think. But Aragorn should have told them of his concerns earlier. Author Reply: Hi Dreamflower :-) Yes, Aragorn should have, but then the story wouldn't have been so interesting - well - at least that's what Golden and I thought *G* Might not have even needed this scene and that would have been a shame. Everyone will learn everything soon :-)

Out of the mouths of babes does wisdom flow. That pretty much sums up my review. Amazing chapter Pearl. Author Reply: Hi Daynawayna! That sums it up nicely :-) Thank you so much!

From the mouths of babes.... And indeed it's time to speak to Parsow--AND Aragorn. He has some wonderful resources at hand, after all. Glad he got to meet Mallefinnros and Feva--I suspect that these are two small angels in disguise. And the perceptions about Feva remind me very much of Nanny McPhee.... Wonderful, Pearl. Author Reply: Thank you, Larner! Nanny McPhee was a cool movie! The wheels are finally turning :-)

Out of the mouths of babes... How easy it would have been for Pippin to end his own life there amongst the rubble, until a child comes along and reminds him that however he may feel, there ARE those who love him. He is not alone in his suffering. Beautiful chapter here, Pearl. Author Reply: Hi Telpethoron! It would have been, yes. Interruptions can sometimes be a good thing :-) Thank you so much :-)
