| For a society such as the Rohirrim such vengeance must, at times, be needful even if dreadful, considering what they see from their enemies. Author Reply: Hello Larner, yes, sometimes it might help people to overcome the horrors they have witnessed and help them to avoid losing their mind if they are allowed vengeance, but it is a walk on a razor's blade. One will never know what one will do in such a situation, and it is a long way from wishing for vengeance to taking it with one's own hands.
