Ah, this makes me thing of that chapter when MAglor says tat he wanted to be a father! Now thrpugh blood and blade, there he is, a father indeed, and the beginning of a wonderful friendship!

A wonderful beginning for the family, after all. And love the descriptions of the farm and their reactions to it. And I rejoice the agreement has been made to cease hostilities for a time. These two need that.

Catching up again... I love Maglor with Elrond and Elros. Their interactions are exactly what I pictured. I always thought this part of Maglor's history was the saddest. His actions in taking in Elrond and Elros showed that his heart was not at all in the quest for the Silmarils any longer. And clearly he was a good guardian for them given how they turned out (and you did a great job showing that here). That makes his future all the more sad. This was a great chapter!

Another heart-breaking chapter - I particularly liked the beginning paragraphs - especially Maedhros pain. It is interesting to see Elros and Elrond - especially in this setting. Am looking forward to the next chapter.

A Good Thing for the whole of Middle-earth that Maglor took Earendil's children to his heart - and this his brother loved him enough to let him have his way. Oh dear. More oaths. But for a better cause this time. All three of these poor lost people need someone to trust and look after. Blooming Feanor - destroyer of his own family and of many others.

I'd never noticed the symmetry of Elrond and Elros being taken in just as Amrod and Amras die. Tolkien was good at that sort of thing, leaving it understated but suggestive. I suppose he may not even have been consciously aware of it sometimes. Someday, we will recover Father’s jewels I think I've had a little too much caffeine because suddenly I'm reading the Silm as a story about castration fears. :-)
