Mmm. I liked your reasonig here, that they had not thought what would be done after the SIlmarils were regained, because it gives a certain measure of redemption to MAglor, that he cast it away on his own will nad not of unbearable torment. And I loved the lasst scene, he saying goodbye to his people and walking away, while the othres understood that they had to let him go. Nice tale. I hope that the muse keeps blowing in ths quarter!

Absolutely stunningly gorgeous... such sorrow, such grandeur, such pain... such beauty in little stolen moments in a horrible, wonderful life... Thank you SO much for sharing this with us! It is wonderful!

A memory stirred in his mind, of holding his father’s body as it burned away from within. Great connection here. I also loved Maglor's last words to the Silmaril. Very powerful and they sum it up perfectly. This was a great ending to a very tragic story. Great job, FP!

Again, this is one who learned the hard way how the love and vow he gave his father twisted so much of his life and reality from what was intended. I've grieved for him and how he was robbed of all in the end save for his singing.

Such a pity that this was the one vow he could keep, in the end. I think he would have chosen to keep most of the others over this one (certainly the promises to his wife and adopted sons). Beautifully told, though of course tragic. I look forward to your next tale!

I feel so privileged to have been able to take this gift of yours and enjoy it. Nay, not only enjoy, but relish, revel in, rejoice, and grieve. Beautifully written - as you said, the form made it easier for the reader also. I hope to read your other 'Maglor' tales. Thank you for sharing this wondrous gift.

I really like the way this story rounds out and forms a whole, Pony. Maglor comes across as a tragic figure. That moment when he says he's lost everything he ever loved except one brother is touching.
