Oh dear, funny. If I'm not mistaken, that was how the Victorian "Ladies" were supposed to act. A primative form of birth control? Any way, in all this exploring of what Lothiriel was expecting, I have wondered if Eomer was fearing he would end up with a cold fish that her aunt would be proud of? But you have nailed the expectations of what most men want, a "Lady" in public and a "Lady of the night" in private. Author Reply: The saying around her - which I adapted slightly is --- a man wishes his wife to be like a nun - in public, a whore - in the bedroom and his mother in the kitchen!LBJ Author Reply: The saying around here - which I adapted slightly is --- a man wishes his wife to be like a nun - in public, a whore - in the bedroom and his mother in the kitchen!LBJ

Oh, hahaha, I laughed all through this chapter! Poor, poor, poor Lothiriel! It's a good thing that she has friends to set her straight, otherwise there might never be a legitimate heir to Rohan's throne. The only thing I could think of while reading this was how happy I was that I didn't have an aunt give me a talk like that before I was married, ha. Author Reply: Me too. Luckily my Loti is made of sterner stuff!LBJ

It does sound as if Auntie didn't have much fun in her marriage at all. Poor thing! And her worry about laundry! Hilarious! Ah, dear. You've had me giggling with this one. Author Reply: Yes, and it was not as if she had to do the laundry herself, either.LBJ
