Ah, a sweet, and oh, so romantic a beginning. Love it! Author Reply: Yes, I've decided that Bungo should be a very romantic hobbit--after all, he built Belladonna the most luxurious hobbit hole in all of the Shire. He obviously wants to give her the world, IMO, and is going to put his Baggins stubborness and perserverance to good use. I'm very glad you loved it! I hope you continue to enjoy! Thanks, Larner! :) ~Elemmírë~

What a wonderful beginning! I love Bungo's careful plans to earn money, purchase land, build a grand home, then propose to the one who's captured his heart. And the details -- such as wishing to paint the door of their home to match the color of Bella's eyes -- are great. I'm looking forward to more from "the gardens". Author Reply: Thanks a bunch, Shirebound! :D I'm really glad you enjoyed Bungo's well-thought plans and the details. He's really a very smitten hobbit, isn't he. ~Elemmírë~

OK, I love Bungo and his great plans. This is very entertaining. I love looking at Bag End and the Bagginses from the beginning. I hope there is more soon. Author Reply: Thank you so much, GW! I really had fun writing Bungo and I'm looking forward to writing more of him for this tale. As I told Queen Galadriel, I was originally going to have this tale be focused more on the years when the Gaffer and Sam took care of the gardens of Bag End, but I didn't really like my layout of the story and how it was coming out. Then I thought, why not start at the very beginning of the gardens themselves! I'm very glad I changed things around, for everyone has nothing but nice things to say so far about this first chapter. Thanks for reading/reviewing! Yes, there will be more soon! ~Elemmírë~

Yea! You're posting to this story! What a lovely prologue! I don't believe I've ever read anything from Bungo's perspective. The dreamy summer-afternoon feel works nicely here, and the description of Belladonna is wonderfully vivid. What other tales will be told of this garden, I wonder? (True, I can guess some involving certain Gamgees, but I'm very curious to see where this goes.) God bless, Galadriel Author Reply: Thank you for such an enthusiastic review, Queen Galadriel! 'Tales from the Garden' was originally just to be a tale about the Gamgees and I had a few chapters already written but I wasn't exactly thrilled with them. But then I realized that Bag End's gardens encompassed many generations, so I thought, 'why not just start at the very beginning.' I am now much happier at how this story is unfolding. I had fun writing from Bungo's perspective. According to Tolkien, Bilbo was a replica of his predictable Baggins father until Gandalf rousted the Tookishness in him. Speaking of Tooks, I'm glad you liked Belladonna as well. To answer you, yes, the Gamgees will most certainly be making their appearance(s), but not for a few chapters yet. As for the other tales that will be told, well you'll just have to continue reading! Thanks again and I hope you continue to enjoy! It was nice to hear from you again. ~Elemmírë~
