| Brilliant, lol! I was sucked in from the beginning, wondering what was "real" or what was "storytelling". I got the biggest kick out of Frodo's high-mannered speech to the dragoness while manicuring her talons. What a magnificent tale from a magnifient storyteller! | |

| That was utterly, adorable CUTE!!! I thouroughly enjoyed Bilbo's detailed and splendid tale to the young hobbits, Llinos. I never thought it was he telling the tale until I came to the end; I thought perhaps Frodo and Sam were playing at stealing some cookies (er biscuits) from the kitchen and the mean dragon lady was Bell or one of Sam's sisters. Alas, it's a lovely sight, picturing Bilbo surrounded by the young hobbits all giggling at his tale The dragon lifted a huge, but delicately formed, silver talon, glancing at it with critical eyes before blowing a puff of smoke on it and rubbing it against her chest. "I need my nails polished. Have they sent you?" .... and then becoming wide-eyed in all the right places. Master storyteller is he. I especially enjoyed Bilbo's very apt descriptives of his nephew and Sam. I am the bookworm, pie decorator, weaver of buttons and finder of spectacles misplaced. ... My companion is the flower-charmer, the earth-delver, guardian of seed and the nemesis of weeds." Too cute! Frodo and Sam's interaction with the lady dragon made me laugh aloud and even reminded me somewhat of Donkey in the first Shrek movie when he too encouters a lady dragon and flatters her to keep from being roasted. And ever practical Sam to the rescue when the manicure tools were worn down! He and Frodo are very clever little lads. I loved how they glued the dragon's feet to the ground and then made her cry so she wouldn't have firey breath anymore. Although I must say that I agree with Merry in wondering why Frodo would be carrying a manicure set of all things. LOL! And wee Marigold made me smile at her concern for her brother's foot fur. You wrote all of the childrens' reactions very well and very age appropriate. ~Elemmírë~ p.s. I really liked your description of Spangla. She sounds like a very beautiful dragon indeed, as blue is my favorite color! | |

| I love this. I truly enjoyed this bit from Sam, ("I don't know as how I'd have managed to carry all those things with me," Sam gave a puzzled smile. "And all the right things just as they were needed!") It is such fun to hear him worry about the very thing he did so well during the quest. It was all such fun. You and Bilbo both have a way with a tale! | |

| A superb piece! Reads like some of Tolkien's shorter works, namely, Master Giles of Ham. Such subtlety and humour and plot should be rewarded *muah* 'Quieter than a mouse with earache' stole my heart but not ending there, you carried on with 'We shall be fried with one breath' and all hope was lost at 'May your beauty ever embarrass the moon'.
