Arwen's grief always touched me and aroused my compassion; yet in the end I'm certain she was more glad she'd chosen as she had than as she might have done. Lovely poem, Calenlass, and so true to the vision I've obviously shared with you. Author Reply: Love is something truly powerful. I can only imagine her grief--the story is quite sad, but as always, not without a touch of hope. ~Calenlass

Heart-rending to read. A question: Though her grave remain forever, wouldn't she be reunited beyond the Sundering Seas with her beloved, since she chose mortality and the Doom of Men? Author Reply: Hmm...now that to that, I think it's the way you interpret what Tolkien writes. He says nothing about the Fate of Men--"Athrabeth Finrod ah Andreth" is helpful, but it's still vague. If we readers believe that they'll be reunited gathering by what Tolkien wrote, how would Arwen know of such a fact? She probably thought it was the end. I fervently believe, and hope it's they will meet again. Else I think it would too tragic of a story. Thank you for the review. -Calenlass
