I must assume that since it is Gimli who was being comforted somehow this was part of the growing relationship between him and Legolas. Now that I've reread it, I see indeed this is written from Boromir's perspective. I am obtuse at times, I admit. Yes, that talk of the glory of Gondor ought to have given me the clue. Come on, Larner--not EVERYTHING to do with Gimli involves that Elf! Heh!

I like that very much. I like Boromir's respect for Gimli and how he explains it all. Lovely. Author Reply: Thank you. I think every member of the Fellowship (except the Hobbits) had to come to terms with each other, decide to accept each other. Glad that Boromir and Gimli found their respect early in the game. And thank you so much for responding!

Wonderful insights! Yes, the huge magnificence of Dwarrowdelf and the wonder of what others can achieve. Author Reply: It must have blown Boromir away. To think that a people half the size of Numenoreans would be able to build such a huge and magnificent city! Humbling for the Man of Gondor. Thanks for responding. xxxooo

I've often felt that the visit to Moria was the beginning of understanding between Elf and Dwarf, and that the following visit to Lothlorien solidified it. Well done. Author Reply: Oh Larner - I must not have quite written this well enough. The hand is Boromir's (movie verse). I think, if the Elf had not been busy guarding those with him, he would have noted and offered comfort too. I would love to find a tale that tells of the change in relationship between Dwarf and Elf while in Lothlorien... hmmm... perhaps a plot bunny has reared its ugly, furry head! Thanks for responding.
