This is terrific, budgielover! Very exciting. Looks like I'm going to be up a bit late reading the rest of this, instead of "a chapter or two" like I intended. Too good to put down! docmon

Hmmm, Frodo seems to have made one goblin very testy, good for him, I always knew Frodo was a fighter.

Distracted by Frodo, they'll make better targets for Aragorn and Boromir--and the rest when they come. Excellent strategy, Frodo.

Oops! Did I write "great admirer"? What I wanted to say was, I think your cliffies are "great" :) Maybe "big" or "huge" are better adjectives?

Wow!!! Brave hobbit! And what a good plan. Well, at first! That goblin leader seems to be very, very angry now. And I think Frodo's conclusion that its only intention now is to kill him is right. But we know that at least Aragorn and Boromir are very near and should have been able to locate the goblins. And what did Legolas see? I'm a great admirer of your cliffhangers, but must I really wait another week now? That's far too long ;-)

You've left us all quite breathless Budgie! I really like how you have Frodo thinking and acting so boldly. Good old Bill, biting the reins! And I love Gimli the nursemaid :-) Most excellent!!

Gimli the nursemaid! Gandalf, assaulting the treacherous earth with his fast-spiking staff. Bill, taking things into his own, er, teeth. Hob-bit! Hob-bit! Hm, sounds almost like a football stadium calling for a hero. (I know you didn't mean it that way, but still...) I wonder why Legolas bolted like he did. Did he hear the goblins? Or did he hear Boromir yell? Seems, at the end, that the goblins forgot about the puny little army of two only a stone's throw away... Speaking of stones, there are stone-throwing hobbits on the way, with accurate aim. Have you made sure lots of small stones are scattered about the landscape? And while we're on stones, surely Frodo might pick up a stone or three. Bang! Right in the kisser! (What movie is that from? I can't remember.) As always, looking forward to more.

Oh wow! Patented Budgie excitement! I really like the way Gimli is looking after the hobbits, and their determination to keep up! And Bill, refusing to be left behind! But I really love resourceful Frodo, thinking every minute, in spite of pain and obstacles, for the best way to escape and warn his friends! This is the brave and intelligent Frodo we love! He's trapped now, but at least for the moment safe from being eaten! And of course, Aragorn and Boromir have been warned, and furthermore know of his location. Can't wait for more!!!!

Yikes Budgie! I feel like I would like to jump in there and help Frodo, I mean I could feel the fear in him (maybe I was just reliving it with him) Poor Frodo! Aragorn to the rescue!!!! Lets kick some Orc butt!!!!!!!
