| ROTFL!! What a sight that must have been! It's a shame Frodo didn't leave it that way for the S.-B.s! But I suppose he didn't want them coming after him, LOL! The ants-and-honey is in my story "Conspiracy of Hobbits" in Chapter 20, near the end. Fortunately, Gandalf wasn't anywhere near Bag End at the time--Pippin left a plate of honey under the bed, a jar of ants, and the window propped open, as a, shall we say, housewarming gift for the S.B.s. | |

| I'm sure Lobelia will thank Folco for his innovative furniture arrangement! At Caltech there is a tradition of pulling pranks on the dorm rooms. My father told me about one where they *did* nail someone's furniture to the ceiling -- everything was upside down! [Another prank involved moving one guy's stuff and carefully arranging it in the room one floor above his; another time they assembled a Model T inside someone's room.] Author Reply: You know, I remember hearing similar stories! Hmmm. I remember once someone filled a dorm room entirely with balloons, such that you could hardly open the door. They must've climbed out through the window, but it was on the third floor, as I recall! | |
