| I just read the three stories that comprise your trilogy, and I would like to say that you captured the emotions of Aragorn, Legolas, and Eowyn extremely well. You showed deep insight into the emotions that drive them, and their values and perspectives on war, loyalty, devotion to duty, and comradeship. I think that you hit the nail on the head in your depiction of the relationship between Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli. I appreciate also your sensitivity to the needless waste of life that accompanies war, and your depiction of the young boys who were called upon by Theoden to defend Rohan was moving and also stirring, often, as you pointed out several times, too young to be big enough to wield the swords they were given. Don't forget that also the older "veterans" returned to duty one more time as well! I think that is one of the few things (to my way of thinking) that Peter Jackson really got right about the movies. | What a wonderfully crafted trilogy. The scenes entwining from different POV's. I loved Éowyn's particularly. Brave, fair Éowyn. And the hope that she brings. You showed so well the turmoil of feelings and hope she feels for Aragorn. I'm so glad later on, she will wind Faramir, and happiness with him. I loved also particularly the last image you painted, with Legolas and Aragorn standing together. Brotherhood and love, against hate and destruction, such hope, and I so love this friendship. | All three of your stories are really touching, but I think I liked Eowyn's most of all, especially the message of hope at the end. Thanks for three great stories. | |
