A sweet little piece to read. Just one question really. From the various pieces I have read of Tolkien, I always understood that Arwen being the Evenstar of her people meant that she was the last of her kind actually born in Middle Earth prior to the general migration of the Elves to Valinor after the War of the Ring, not that she preferred evening as a time. Elves needed little sleep and didn't sleep the way mortals did. It was more a waking reverie really. They loved the morning as well as the evening and the stars and because they didn't sleep, as such they would have been early 'risers'. I would imagine that despite Arwen choosing a mortal would still adhere to her original Elven upbringing. I can see her being extremely annoyed at being left behind while the others go riding out to watch the sunrise! Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review. You make a valid point. I guess I was thinking of Eomer's comments and that Arwen had chosen mortality.Who knows maybe she will wake up and feel very annoyed that Aragorn left without her.

I loved the quotation at the beginning; being fond of the song recorded by Cat Stevens. And the ficlet fulfills its promise; showing Aragorn enjoying a wonderful morning in fair, less formal Ithilien. Nice descriptions as usual. Author Reply: Many thanks for your much appreciated review.I learned "Morning has Broken" at school where we sang it as a hymn. I'm pleased you enjoyed the ficlet.

I love these tales! I'm as exhilerated as Aragorn reading this. Care to write about Aragron's ride under the stars with his Undomiel? RS Author Reply: Thank you for your much appreciated review.I'm delighted you feel exilarated. THat is a great idea for a sequel. I'll see if my Muse will oblige.

I'm with Arwen - give me an evening ride any time. But, then again, to ride with Aragorn I'd get up as early as you like! *G* Author Reply: Thank you for your much appreciated review.I'm like Arwen too, but a ride with Aragorn would get even me out of bed !
