I think this is a very sweet story. It's lovely to see the hobbits enjoying a life of normality after their ordeals, and it's funny to imagine Sam not looking forward to a meal! I always enjoy your smooth and warm style of writing. Author Reply: I know what you mean, something is just not right about a hobbit not wanting a meal, LOL! Thank you so much, Virtuella :-)

Fascinating! And lovely turn of the old adage! Will have to try that one day. Author Reply: Hi Larner! :-) It really is rather tasty!

LOL!!! Great story, Pearl! I actually read in the middle part of your story "The Cook and Thain", but when I tried to find it again it was gone! It must have been my imagination ;-) I can very well imagine Sam's horror when he learned about the ingredients of Took Broth. On the other hand I know of similar creations that tasted just great! Thank you, Pearl! This story was really funny. And to use this nice expression again- MEWD!!! Author Reply: Hi Andrea! I think that is someone else's story . . . LOL! Hehehe I know how I felt at that Scout thing when I saw all the cans getting emptied into one of two large soup pots! Thank you so much for the MEWD :-)

Beautifully done Pearl. I have, indeed, tasted similar creative collaborations. Mostly tasty! Author Reply: Thank you harrowcat :-) Glad you enjoyed both my story and your own soup experience!

LOL! Very clever! Reminds me of my mum's stock pot. She kept a couple of containers in the freezer, and in one went all the vegetable cooking water, leftover broth, and the like, and in the other went all the leftover scraps of meat and vegetables, and at the end of the week she'd throw it all together in a pot and simmer it into soup. It was never quite the same, week to week, and always delicious. Author Reply: That sounds wonderful, and such a neat memory :-) We're finally having fall weather and soup sounds sooooo good right now! Thank you Lin!
