Great chapter. I don't know how I missed it. Now onto the next! Whoo hoo!

I so like that part about being without supper far to long. A little food always helps, but first you must find the hobbit.

Oh, boy, Frodo lost and being crushed by goblins? You sure are rough on Frodo ;) But you always make me fret while reading your stories. They were SO close to each other!! I guess the Ring saved him but now I'm guessing it is going to prove a hinderance to his being found. I do love the interaction you write for the Fellowship. I especially like how you are transforming Gimli into a "mother hen". It must be odd for him to care so much for the hobbits. But I always wondered about that because of his comments about Pippin at the end of Return of the King, he really does become quite attached I believe, and you show that wonderfully. I hope they find Frodo soon! He is in for a rough time witht he poison and the hunt just to find hime. Looking forward to more!

Another exciting chapter. I hope Aragorn gets to Frodo soon.

Poor Merry, and rightfully worried. Now, to search that pile of bodies! And I never thought to feel empathy for an orc!

“Dead,” the goblin repeated, its voice slowing. “Soon. Very soon. Speared. Spear poisoned. Soon dead.” Oh my!!! Not only unconscious and drowning (again) but also poisoned? They will have to very quick to find him still alive. Somehow I have the feeling that Merry and Gimli make the perfect search party. And I agree with the others: Merry is great in this chapter! “He would,” said Merry wearily, but a hint of pride wove through his voice. “Be courteous to orcs, he would. Probably gave them a bow. Ridiculous Baggins.” Abruptly Merry sat down and cradled his head in his arms, his shoulders shaking. Perfectly written, really!

Oh, gracious - Frodo's invisible and crushed by orcs and poisoned. Not good at all. Merry's wonderful in this, too. Wonderful - but evil cliffhanger!

“Abducted, nearly drowned, probably half-frozen, and without supper for far too long,” Gandalf’s voice rode over Aragorn’s with unnecessary loudness. Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli stared at the wizard blankly. Gandalf ignored them. “We must find your cousin quickly to remedy all of those predicaments, Merry.” And don't forget bruised, from when his rescuers trip over him in their search... no, wait, he's half-crushed, from orcs falling over him. Ah, well. Congrats on the new website!

Oh my!! Buried like Pippin will be later! They need someone with as good a nose as the Orcs have. Looking forward to more!

Oh Frodo! Poor Frodo, unconscious and invisible, like Bilbo after the Battle of Five Armies. Only the Ring is awake now. And I *love*love*love* Merry in this! You do such a marvelous job of showing his intelligence and determination and love and loyalty!
