Had to read this again. Oh, but I can so imagine this happening! Author Reply: LOL, and so after reading this I had to go back and see... and oh, yes! This was a fun one. I find myself imagining the conversation at the breakfast table next morning, Pippin's incredulous refusal to believe Merry's account of things that go bump in the night... (((hugs))) Thanks!

Poor Pippin--such a dream, and such a defense--against a harmless cistern and boiler! Poor lad! At least Merry knows what to do! Lovely short one, my friend. Author Reply: Poor cistern! And poor boiler! And poor Travellers, when they want a hot bath! (Thanks.)

Very nice story. Love it! Now IŽd like to read about the morning after that night. *g* Sleepwalking truly is a strange thing. I once shocked my mother and a bunch of her friends when running inside the leaving room, while they were playing cards in the late evening shouting:" FIRE! FIRE! Someone help, there is a fire!" There were several more times I shocked my parents while sleep walking, like when going outside in the winter, middle of the night and my father just saw me by accidents, because he was coming home from a a party or another time, where my mother found me under a table, shaking and shouting at her in ..she says..another language... I didnt speak any other language at that age.. *L* but who knows whats inside us and where our mind is taken in dreams. Author Reply: Hmmm, the morning after that night... Unfortunately, the Muse packed up not long after this was posted and hasn't been heard of since. Well, I did get a post-card the other day, so who knows if she might show up again, one of these days... Oh, my, I'm glad that you were stopped before you went outside in winter--that might have been bad! Our dc have sleepwalked at one time or another.

Wonderfully well done!! What a shock for dear old Merry. Hobbits *should* have invented indoor plumbing :-) Author Reply: You're right, it seems like a natural invention for hobbits. Cooking and bathing, important life events.

Huh? My review just vanished! Oh well, try, try again... Poor Pippin! Slaying the cistern in mistake for a troll, poor baby! I can just imagine his embarrassed consternation in the morning when Merry explains it all to him! And imagine trying to explain the repairs... (Oh, and as to my own mishap--looks like we may just be able to repair the tank or the seals and gasket...) Author Reply: KWYM. I don't know if I answered these reviews, and the answers vanished, or if I got sidetracked and *thought* I'd answered them... I'd imagine that Pippin wouldn't believe Merry, next morning, and would instead insist that it was all some sort of enormous prank.

Oh dear! LOL! Poor Pippin--his mishap was far worse than mine, poor baby! Sleepwalking! And slaying a helpless cistern in mistake for a troll! I can just imagine his chagrin in the morning when Merry explains the mess to him--"squidge, squidge"... And then they will have to explain the repairs... What a start to life at Crickhollow! (Oh, and as to my own mishap--it is quite possible we won't need a complete replacement after all...seems that you can get a kit to just replace the tank if needed, or the seals and gasket...)

I think Merry was very wise. Sleep-walkers are not to be disturbed if at all possible. I loved the care that Merry took and the suspense at the beginning is quite good. I was beginning to worry about what Merry might find. Well done! Author Reply: Hah, answering neglected reviews tonight (ought to be in bed, but that's another story). Thanks!
