Well I am glad to know that other peaple's handiwork looks bad on the backside, I thought I was just a messy person. Glad that the innkeeper made Elessar laugh. Author Reply: LOL--I think that everyone's handiwork is a mess on the backside. At least, I hope so because mine is a disaster! Thanks for the comments! Allee

A right wise inn-keeper you have there Allee! Author Reply: Thanks, harrowcat. I like to think of the Innkeeper as my wise alter-ego. Whenever I need a reality check, he seems to know what I need to hear! Allee

Oh Allee... this is Beautiful! Such a simple man that innkeeper, but boy, he sure knows what to say.....and he should be proud of himself!! Thank you for mentioning Arwen..and for her to be mentioned in such a way...this was just lovely. "Elessar broke into one of his crooked grins and closed his eyes for just a moment ere sayin’, “Yes, Master Innkeeper. Once again, you are correct. I suppose it is all part of the song.” ------ Love It! RS Author Reply: Hi RS, I'm so glad you liked it. I included Arwen per your request. ;-) She lent herself well to this chapter, so thank you for the suggestion! Allee

This was just beautiful and very thought provoking.I often wonder if our lives are like tapestries from the back but making sense when viewed from the other side. I love your Aragorn and the innkeeper. Author Reply: Linda, Thanks so much. I certainly do believe that our lives are like tapestries viewed from the back, but I needed the reminder. I guess that's why I wrote this chapter as I did. Allee

“Especially when she paid such a dear price to buy our short time together.” I didn’t ask what he meant. I’m nosy, but I at least have the good sense to realize when a man speaks for no ears but his own. What a perceptive man. I'm really enjoying the glimpses you give us of the Innkeeper and his King. Author Reply: Thanks, Shirebound. The innkeeper certainly is perceptive. That's one of the things I love about writing him. Allison

Yes, this innkeeper is very perceptive indeed! I know how odd the backsides of some of my crochet projects get when I'm changing colors; and this idea of the tangles on the backside of Arwen's tapestries hits home. Indeed, part of the song, one that adds to the total meaning. Author Reply: Thanks, Larner. I once made my mother a cross-stitch of a lighthouse; it was my first one, and when I started seeing all that mess accumulating on the back, I thought it was going to turn out a mess! Those tangles and knots can be deceiving. Allison

How wonderful to find a new chapter of this lovely tale! I do love your wise Innkeeper--he and the King have much more in common than they realize, with their devotion to their faithful wives, and their sense of what is right and due. I'm glad *I* didn't have to listen to that sour note, though! Author Reply: Thanks so much, Dreamflower! You're right; the Innkeeper and the King have quite a lot in common, in spite of their obvious differences. I'm with you--I wouldn't want to hear that sour note, either, even if it *does* add to the song's effect! Allee
