That was very good. I like stories about Smeagol before he was Gollum. One question: How did you come up with the names Trahald and Nahold?

Author Reply: Hey, thanks for reading this. That's a good question: I gleefully robbed from the Master himself, Prof. Tolkien, and picked them out in Appendix F, Part II in the back of ROTK, 'On Translation' (Page 1110 in my copy.) According to Prof. Tolkien, Trahald and Nahald were Smeagol and Deagol's alternate names, Old English words meaning 'burrowing' and 'secret'. I was being kind of sneaky there, trying to keep the identities of my characters under wraps for as long as possible, which seems kind of silly now, as anybody with eyes could tell right off who they were. Oh well:o)
