yes forgiveness is so easy once revenge is served. Author Reply: And Pippin knows just how to offer them both. It gets his point across, without inviting further pranks. Merry could learn something from him. ;)

Hahaha! Hilarious story. I do not drink myself and I can understand Pip when he says drunken Hobbits would be rediculous, but I enjoy reading stories that bring Hobbits and too much ale together. They are funny. The prank of the cousins was good done and I am glad they took care that nothing bad happend to Pippin. Also that he met the bar maid ...*L* And Pips revenge prank at the end...hihi...well, but what do the other expect, they taught him to be a prankster from childrenlegs on. Enjoyed the story a lot. Author Reply: I also do not drink and share Pippin’s opinion of those who overindulge. Of course, Pippin himself won’t have so many objections to overindulging now that he doesn’t have to worry about cousinly pranks. And now that he’s met the barmaid! lol. Pippin’s payback was small enough not to get him into further trouble with his sister and cousins, and they will most likely laugh about it themselves when they get up to wash their faces in the morning and see what’s happened to them. Thanks for reading!

Oh, this was marvelous! How devious of everyone involved - thanks for a great laugh! Author Reply: This is a team of pranksters that the Shire should be grateful didn’t join forces more often. No one would have any peace! Thanks for reading! I’m glad you enjoyed the story and got a laugh from it.

It could ONLY happen like that to Pippin! I am still giggling! Loved it! Author Reply: Pippin does have a way of finding himself in unique situations. :D I’m glad you enjoyed this!

And here I was wondering how you'd top what Frodo did to Merry! Brilliant and quite a scheme. That took team work! LOL My favorite line was Pervinca's opinion of poor Frodo! (She supposed old age was at last having its toll on Frodo, if only on his mind.) Enjoyed this. Thanks for the laugh before bedtime. Author Reply: It took me a loooong time to figure out what Merry could do to Pippin. Thankfully, Pervinca knew just what needed to be done and the lads were genius enough to help pull it off. (Though it would have been much easier if silly old Frodo hadn’t let Pippin in on the secret in the first place, lol!) Thanks for reading!

Pip certainly believes in 'don't get mad, get even' - love the idea of him painting daffodils on the faces of the other pranksters. I loved the interaction between them all and it seems right that Pervinca was as involved as the others. I also love that the pranksters still keep an eye on the victim and don't allow them to get into too much trouble. That seems particularly hobbity somehow. Author Reply: Pippin has learned that keeping a cool head garners much more success of revenge than blowing a gasket. He’s also learned that revenge is best on a small scale, rather than a large scale, which would just invite more pranks. And what better flower to paint when exacting his revenge than the name flower of his lovely barmaid/rescuer? My Pervinca is just as ornery, or worse, than Merry and Pippin. She’s taught Pippin a lot about survival, if only because of the pranks she’s pulled on him in the past! There was no way she was going to miss being a part of this tradition. Well, a prank can only be considered successful and fun if no one gets hurt. They certainly wouldn’t want Pippin to come to any harm. Thanks for reading!

A grand tradition indeed! You know, I love Pippin's equanimity in all this; he simply takes it all in as a matter of course, as he gradually processes what has happened to him--and then, he doesn't get mad, he gets even, LOL! I also love the care taken in this--they are perfectly willing to humiliate Pippin, but they take great care, especially Merry, to ensure that he comes to no actual harm in all of this. Very delightfully told! Author Reply: Pippin knew this was coming for a long time, so he can’t exactly be surprised. He was just glad to find himself still wearing his own clothes! Of course, the face paint was unexpected – leave it to Pervinca to think of that. He did come up with the most brilliant payback though, didn’t he? ;) None of them would want to see Pippin hurt, even Pervinca, despite herself. Besides, a prank is only fun when no one gets hurt. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
