| Eee, this is adorable! This is such a loving and cousin-y story. Your Pippin is the sweetest thing. I just loved this bit: Pippin saw them first. He jumped up with a yelp and dashed over to hug Merry around the shins, already talking a mile a minute. “I can’t believe we get to be in one of the contests! I can’t wait to get started, I went through everything I already know about cooking last night: don’t stand too close to the fire, don’t eat things right off the skillet, never mix peanut butter into the eggs, don’t leave the apple juice too close to the fire because it will grow fur—” Author Reply: You just gotta love Pippin, even when he's flinging chicken fat and dumping flour all over the place.
