Missed this the first time so am playing catch up. I really enjoyed this story from the battle of wills between two long standing friends (...."It won't work".... " I know"....), to the saving of a life and the saving of an elf from the torment of sea longing. Wonderful. Tithenaru Author Reply: Better lat than never. :o) L & A know each other so well, it's easy for them to predict the other. I'm glad you enjoyed all the elements of the plot. It's great when a reader tells me a story of mine is wonderful. It's always nice to hear that I've given someone a good read.

Thank you for this - There must have been many in similar situations to C (whether or not it became personal), and you dealt beautifully with the sealonging-too-soon problem! I trust the rest of this mission was successful? *g* Thank you again, and Cheers. Author Reply: You are most welcome. I'm very glad that you liked the way I dealt with the problem of the sea longing being awakened in Legolas too soon. It was a rare and special gift he received from Ulmo. Too bad he won't remember it. :o) I like to think the mission went well. Cheers.

Ah, but it is quite a gift given Legolas here. And the Man from Gondor has bitterness but little wisdom, I see. Too bad he had to find his end in this way; but Aragorn will be needed for a time yet, after all. Author Reply: It's a rare gift. Too bad he won't remember it. :o) Chandur didn't understand the responsibility of command and let his grief turn his heart to that enduring bitterness. We do need Aragorn for many years to come, so all ends well, in this case.

A lovely ending to an enjoyable story. I always want to visit the sea when I hear the gulls!I'm glad the Valar took pity on Legolas. Author Reply: I'm happy that you liked the ending and enjoyed the story. I've spent many a day at the beach in Florida, and the gulls remind me of those times. So am I. Legolas needed their blessing and Ulmo's help.
