Holy moly. That's a shocker. As I sort through this, my sympathy settles unexpectedly on Feanor. His parents tangled up his life before it even started.

Author Reply: Yes, that might be my own bias coming through, inevitable I suppose. I've always had sympathy for Fëanor -- but I don't want to give him a pass for what he did. I figure something had to have happened that warped the world view of the mightiest of the Noldor.
