I'm so glad Aragorn's healing extends to animals :-) Poor Alqualondë surely needed a deep, undisturbed rest. I hope he will take comfort with Faramir when he awakens. Well done, as always, Agape :-) (sorry I'm behind, I've not had much time for reading the last few weeks and am behind here and at a challenge I was in as well :( I'm hoping to get caught up soon :-) ) Author Reply: First - good luck with the challenge! Second - I'm glad you noticed that Aragorn was healing the Cat with that sleep he put him in. I'm not sure if others did... I think Aragorn would be able to do such a thing! Blessings and thank you for your kind words of encouragement!

Alqualonde will find that hobbits are remarkably tough but I'm glad he is amused and cheered by Pippin's innocence. Please tell our brave cat that I meant no disrespect in offering a virtual hug! They are such dignified animals but we all need some comfort now and then. I hope he soon realises that his suspicions are unfounded, and discovers that the hands of the King are the hands of a healer. Author Reply: I can't wait till their relationship grows - which I very much hope it will - the Cat's and Pip's that is.... as for Aragorn - ah... the Cat is learned - he has sat at Faramir's knee now and then and listened to the tales of kings... we'll see.... Psst - the scribe would like you to know that the Cat was secretly pleased with the virtual hug. But he doesn't want anyone else to know!

Alqualondë is part human methinks. The pain he feels is the same as ours and his love and devotion at least as deep or maybe even deeper. I shall seriously miss him when this tale finally ends. I was delighted to find that Pippin heard him speak. Wouldnt they make a great pair? Tari Author Reply: It will be fun to see how their relationship grows, Tari. His pain is profound, at the moment, and my heart goes out to him. Oh - let's not talk about the tale ending quite yet! *giggles* Also - the Cat takes offense at being called part human. Take it back now or he might scratch out your eyes! PS - the scribe thanks you for continuing to read and review after all the ill-mannered things the Cat has said to you.... you show your quality!

I just loved the scene of Aragorn with the cat. Author Reply: Me too - and the Cat seemed to like it too. Thanks for reviewing!

Goodness! If Alqualonde thinks his world is turned upside down now, wait until he learns that the King has returned and that it was he who cured Faramir's Black Breath! I don't think anything could completely assuage his grief, but I expect that once the truth sinks in, he will be able to put it into perspective! And Pippin! How I loved Pippin's breathless recital! *grin* Author Reply: I find it really neat that Pip isn't the least bit concerned with how the Cat will view his speech. They have already bonded.... There will be little time for grief in the next few days... Gondor goes to war... The Cat thanks you for your kind reviews....

What a fascinating story, where even a cat can benefit from the healer-King, and perhaps find a new life and a new purpose. Author Reply: A new life... wow, I don't think the Cat has thought much about that... right now he's trying to come to terms with grief and whether or not he should still throw himself off the parapet! We can hope that he sees your review and looks to the future with hope.... Thank you!

How had he recovered so quickly from the horrors we had seen? How, indeed! But that's a Hobbit for you. *grin* Poor Alqualondë. I doubt he'll ever trust Gandalf further than he can throw the Wizard but I do hope with Pippin's help (and even Faramir's when he awakens), he will warm up to Aragorn and accept him as someone as worthy of service as he's acknowledged Denethor was. I wish these chapters weren't so short, though! I just get into it and boom! I have to wait for the next installment. At least you update regularly so I can live with it. *grin* Thanks for another great chapter about the Cat. I hope he (and your muse) deign to tell other tales about him in the future. Author Reply: Not sure about the wizard and the Cat.... he certainly loved Denethor and was loyal to him. If he doesn't go off and burn himself up, he might seriously consider serving the king... As for the short chapters... I know exactly what you mean... Most of my other stories have chapters that have a thousand words or more... However, this is the way the Cat started this tale and he refuses to be bullied into making them longer.... He is a leisurely Cat and easy-going. The chapters just reflect his own personality. Bless you for your review!

If it's one thing Pippin does well it's talk! LOL I loved the way he just started right in speaking to Alqualondë and chattering away. Alqualondë sorrow at the very beginning of this chapter is so heart breaking. I do hope Aragorn is able to ease the pain somewhat for this loyal, devoted animal. Author Reply: Thank you, GW, for the acknowledgement of the pain. It brought tears to my eyes as the Cat related the incident. I am so hoping that Aragorn and Alqualonde will become fast friends and companions. Perhaps if Aragorn brings some salmon on his next visit??? And thanks for the note about Pippin... he is incredibly comfortable with the Cat... I'm wondering if it's because he has cats back home??? Thanks for the review and especially for nominating this for the MEFA's. *blushes* The Cat thanks you for that high honor too!

Alqualonde has a good deal to learn about Hobbits yet! Wait until he meets Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee! Heh! And he thinks Faramir's recovery is sorcery? Poor suspicious kitty! Author Reply: Hi, Larner! The Cat is looking forward to meeting with this Ringbearer and his gardener. Faramir has told him a wee bit about the two and it has certainly piqued his curiousity. Cat lived with Denethor for the last eighteen years... of course he's going to be suspicious. Shees! Bless you and thank you for the review!
