| To see those we love lose their innocence, and in the case of Feanor embracing such anger and suspicion, must have been most devastating. Not adults necessarily, but sundered from what they were intended to be. Morgoth and Sauron did their work far, far too well. Author Reply: That's true, the Elves were not able to reach their full potential after everything went bad with the Silmarils. Varda must have felt the loss especially.
