Poor Faramir! I've always thought that it had to be a terrible thing for him to bear, especially once he was told the whole tale of his father's end. I'm glad Alqua can give him some comfort. Author Reply: I'm really glad the Cat was with him, too, Pearl... A hideous tale to be told - and poor Faramir weak and sick with the remnants of the Black Breath just sent off....

More Faramir he has some dreadful things to learn eventually.I wonder if he will hear them from the cat or Gandalf? Author Reply: The books don't say - so I guess I have some leeway *smiles* Thanks for reviewing!

What harm can a cat do? Little does she know and the shock of finding out he can talk might be more than a little hard on her. I can picture the shocked look on her face as she flies down the hall, screaming. I’m sitting here wondering what kind of a voice the cat would have. Would it be soft and sweet, childlike, or deep like a man? Tari Author Reply: I truly cannot see the Cat letting this woman know about his gift. I did, however, enjoy the sight that you put into my mind - poor thing screaming down the hall... It's a whisper in the mind...

Well, dear Scribe, it seems that our kitty 'let the cat out of the bag' so's to speak. I don't blame him. His grief is not hidden from Faramir. I hope they can comfort one another. I am glad Pippin kept his silence when Ioreth was under the impression that our dear cat 'is harmless'. He is when he loves you. Hugs for the Scribe. Neilia Author Reply: Oh - I think it was pure shock that kept Pip from letting the cat out of the bag! He was most displeased that he had to leave and the Cat didn't! *shivers* This Cat is definitely not harmless... as Gandalf saw! Cover your face......... Thanks for the hugs. Always needed! One right back at you!

Oh, good, I was worried Ioreth was going to kick the cat out. I was glad she allowed him to stay. Pippin would be a good person to wake up to, I think. Author Reply: It would be really nice to wake up to Pippin's sweet voice... Yes indeed. Though many in the Citadel itself have a 'fear' of the Cat... Ioreth has been in the Houses and not aware of the Cat's reputation. Thankfully - for Faramir needs a familiar face and a good friend right about now.

Pippin’s voice reminded him of some delightful, childhood song, light and lilting That's a lovely description. Poor man, he already knows the worst, doesn't he? Author Reply: Poor Faramir is right - but the Cat, who is an extremely imporant character in this tale, though Ioreth hasn't a clue, will help Faramir - at least for a time....

Ah--our Ioreth! Poor little kitty, eh? If she only knew! Author Reply: I had to surpress a giggle or two myself, Larner. Thanks for the review!

I felt so sorry for Faramir here. No one could tell him and yet he knew. I also felt sorry for Pippin and Alqualondë because neither wanted to say. (“What harm can a cat do?”) This made me smile. Ioreth must not have a cat. hehehe Author Reply: This was not the kind of awakening that one would want. We never do find out who told Faramir.... so it seems plausible enough to me that the Cat was the one with the courage and the compassion to do it. Ioreth only knows ratters... Nothing with the intelligence of our Cat.
