| I just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying this story. It is very well written and vividly imagined. I like your characterization, especially of Denethor. Author Reply: Thank you ever so much for your kind words. I've been writing this since January of 2001 and never ever thought it would be this long... However, the character of Denethor is a complicated beast and, to do it right, has proven mind-boggling, to say the least. I am shooting to finish it this year! *crosses fingers* I had always respected Denethor, but have fallen madly in love with him, as well as his sons and Imrahil.... | As always there is so much to think about in this chapter! The depth of the characters and the story itself simply grows and grows, and your power to make us sympathize with the emotions and thoughts of each one develops more with every installment. And the details are wonderfully well done--not many people would consider the age of the scrolls and how they were preserved for so long. I particularly like the scene of Denethor drawing. It is very human of him--something so simple can bring pleasure even in this crazy time for Gondor. Author Reply: My dear friend, glad you saw this chapter was up - they are long - but there's not much I can do about that. I'm so grateful for your support! As a young captain of Gondor, Denethor always kept his journal at hand... not only did he write reports, but he also drew maps, pictures of things he saw that might be needed to explain his reports, and all kinds of things. I would DEARLY love to find those journals!!! However, I do believe drawing gave him a touch of peace... a moment away from the cares of Gondor... a moment to be himself. *sobs* Thank you ever so much for your extremely kind words!
