| I am not into drabbles but this one.... I loved the progression of names -- Fėanor... Melkor... Elves... they encapsualte the history of the Silmarils in concise language fraught with pathos and the weight of tragedy. Elves died for me. Not just Elves, but Men as well. And then you get the arrogant smugness of the Silmaril itself, wondering just how it had ended up where it was. Lo! Seest thou how far the great hath fallen! Masterfully done, Alassantė.
