Heirs of Gondor  by Aelaer 6 Review(s)

I like the vulnerability Aragorn reveals here - there's the tantalizing glimpse of the confidence, and indeed the comfort he enjoys in his role as Chieftain of the Dunedain, and in the same moment he displays ambivalence to Boromir's comparison of him with Elendil. He's off-balance in this new relationship, doesn't quite know what to make of Boromir's overture. The last line is wonderfully frank, and defines the process that they're both entering into, I think.

Oh my goodness! I can hardly begin to think this chapter is so heavily laden with insight and thought and.... Just wow! My goodness, you have really outdone yourself.... I can't even tell you what captures my heart with this one... perhaps it is the weariness of Aragorn and yet him taking time to speak with Boromir... or perhaps Boromir's candidness... or perhaps the growing 'respect?' that each might be feeling for the other. Great chapter!!!

Ah--how wonderful to see the acceptance beginning in Boromir, even if it might be construed as superficial.

What a revealing conversation! Boromir clearly does not doubt Aragorn's lineage, whether he yet accepts him as a possible king or not.

I see Elendil the Tall in all of his glory, with both power and peace lying in his features.

That's a marvelous description. I'm really enjoying how this story is unfolding.

Oh thats a great story. I am actually a Hobbit reader, but this one got my interesst. I think you write Boromir and Aragorn very much in character, can imagine very well that they have those thoughts and these conversation. Looking forward to more.
