| The idea that this is Gimli's first encounter with the orcs is a little strange - but as you say - it works. This is a nice little story, and I like how Boromir encourages his friend. I can feel the warm touch of friendship in this story. Good work! | |

| Oh my! I am sooooo very sorry that I did not see this to offer a review. How delightfully wondrous - I can just imagine the two warriors seated next to each other, reveling in the preparation for battle. You wrote both characters very well - I loved Gimli's slight anxiety at divulging his 'secret' and Boromir's tact and quiet words of encouragement Excellent tale. I hope I might put it up for a MEFA nomination? Blessings! | |

| That was fun! I've never thought in the terms of Gimli/Boromir friendship, but as you write it, it makes excellent sense. They're both warriors. They're both dedicated. They're both, perhaps, a little bit prejudiced... just a little bit, mind you. And the idea of Gimli never having seen an Orc is a funny one. | |

| You know, it *is* quite plausible that Gimli might not have encountered Orcs. He wasn't at the Battle of Five Armies, which rather decimated the orcs in the area for a number of years. I think personally that he must've encountered at least a few in his life before the Quest--but it's very possible that he didn't! And I really appreciated Boromir's reaction; it was just right! | |
