| Oh, that's perfect, delightful! Haha poor Pulgo and Sancho, I knew that was going to happen. Clever idea, though, and they were heroes after all, saving the day from the marauding Lobelia. My, Odo is too good at tyrannizing! I'm glad Pulgo got what he wanted in the end, thanks to Bilbo. I love this; it's one of those stories that really make the Shire feel like home. :) Author Reply: Am so glad to have given so many a chuckle with this one. It was fun to imagine Sancho's brother and the family dynamics in the Proudfoot home. And it's ALWAYS fun to thwart Lobelia! Heh! Yes, we do want to visit the Shire, and possibly live there, don't we? I'd so love to have been able to visit Bag End when Bilbo, Frodo, and Sam were about the place! | |

| Great story! I love it when Lobelia gets what she deserves! On the other hand I found it quite interesting that Otho's fascination with her began when he found out that she was stealing things ;-) Young Pulgo will be a good plumber one day. And he will be extra careful, although the resulting accident was at least partly Sancho's and Sam's fault. I also recognised "us ProudFEET"! Very nice! Author Reply: Oh, it's always fun when Lobelia gets her due, although I think you might fine my next intended Lobelia story a bit of a twist. And Otho is a bit of an odd duck for a Baggins--although he is half Sackville, after all. Too bad in my "verse" Pulgo died when his son Pando was still young! But I bet he was an excellent plumber. The puddle was well worth imagining, I felt! Heh! And so glad you caught that "FEET"! Like it when folk catch such details from book and movie! Heh! Thanks for the feedback. | |

| New-fangled ideas, indeed! But very useful ones! Regardless of Odo’s opinion, it was sweet of Pulgo to want to do something to make things easier for his mother. Odo was such a curmudgeon; the typical old man opposed to all new things, no matter how useful, instead of being proud of his grandson for his (practical) intelligence. And his opinion of Bilbo certainly didn’t help. Sam was caught between all stools here, poor guy. On the one hand trying to help Pulgo, on the other always worrying about his Gaffer and Bilbo. They managed quite a while, but of course something had to go wrong in the end. It was fun to watch the disaster unfold! Well, at least it got Pulgo his apprenticeship. Bilbo was great, helping him in spite of the mess Pulgo made in his own home! And what can I say about Lobelia? The things that come to mind aren’t exactly fit for a family-friendly site ... Oh well, at least she got caught. But I was a bit sorry that she only ended up sitting in cold water. I’d not have minded in the least if she had come to sit in a bucket of paint ;-) Author Reply: And this time Frodo had NOTHING to do with the disaster, unlike the time he painted her wagon seat purple. Heh! But she DOES deserve it! Glad to have entertained you! | |

| Bwah! I didn't see the story going in that direction... great comeuppance for Lobelia although of course she has no shame, anyway. Enjoyed seeing Sam put in a notable appearance in one of your stories. :o) Author Reply: I have been wanting to find some reason to have Lobelia in a puddle; and when I got the story starters "the roses were running riot" and "the waters are rising" I suddenly had this scene rise in my head. | |
