I Will Take It  by Agape4Gondor 7 Review(s)

An Elf did this! Well, I know it wasn’t Legolas or Glorfindel.

Once again I find myself drawn into a tale you are writing. This absolutely amazes me. You must be writing at least three full length stories now. How do you do it?

Tari

Author Reply: Oh good grief, Tari - this is NOT going to be another long story if I can help it - though Sam is grumbling - he wants his own chapter... Merry and Pippin will probably be at my heels, begging.

But I must remain firm and finish some other things first.... like Ten Thousand Years, and My Sword Trembles, and Days of Darkness and Despair, and What Enemy Is This................. Thank goodness, A Cat In King Elessar's Court is finished!

*shakes head wearily*

A chilling tale of how the power of the ring corrupts the mind. Well done!

Author Reply: Thank you. I could just see the poor Elf... and my heart broke. One of many destroyed by the Ring...

Well, I´m rather new to this site, as a member not as a reader.
I like this story very much, albeit it´s very awesome but why should elves not be tempted by the ring ?
I´m very puzzled over the elf´s identity. I don´t believe it´s one of the younger ones but that would point at Erestor or Glorfindel.

....Yet, Lord Elrond had my loyalty and love....,

Sounds as someone rather near to him.

Oh, it´s so frustrating. It sounds rather like Thranduil, but he was not present at the council...

anyway a great little story to think about.

Author Reply: Welcome as a new member. I really love this site for people respond - and as a writer - I need that response. Thank you for yours!

I'm sorry the story has created such angst within you - I really don't know who the Elf is - I only know he has served Elrond for many an age, but harbors a weakness like unto his Noldoran ancestors... If one considers Feanor weak.

Nope - I know it's not Thranduil - I do not believe he was Noldoran.

Aye, too easy indeed. Not Glorfindel, I think, as he was able to dwell in both realms at once. Another from among the Noldor, though. Hmmm. Lindor or Erestor, perhaps?

Author Reply: Lindor or Erestor... Good thoughts... but the answer is ever lost in silence... for the disgrace of it all for The Last Homely House... that such a thing was done whilst Frodo was under Elrond's protection. Yikes!

Oh, I like this! Very thought-provoking - and there must have been some who questioned the wisdom of sending a hobbit off to Mordor to destroy the Ring.

Whose is the POV? I'm thinking Glorfindel, but it could be Erestor - not that either of them would ever be so treacherous!

Author Reply: Thanks, Jay! Coming from an Elf lover makes the review even more appreciated.

I really can't believe that Boromir was the only one with misgivings!

I wrote an A/N at the end - after receiving your review... It thought a wee explanation was needed.

Are you sure it's not the twins????????

This was truly chilling!

Author Reply: To me too! I really felt bad for the Elf... not so much for Frodo - I think he'll wake up with a headache but that's about it...

I'm glad the stolen items, shall we say, didn't get far! Or I hope that arrow came from the good guys and Frodo will soon be rescued.

Namarie, God bless, Antane :)

Author Reply: I'm very glad too - I got the idea - wrote the drabble - and then there was more and more... Once in awhile, the Muse tells me to leave the ending (and other details) up to the reader...
