Yes, what it must be like for the twins to see him now -- about to be crowned, when they have known him as so many other things his whole life...

*bites her lip*

Ooookay... how naughty am I when the strongest image I "carry home" from this chapter is Aragorn, leaning back in the bathtub, rinsing his hair and breaking through the surface of the water again...?

*blushes fiercely*

I can imagine that Aragorn now feels much better. I always feel so, after getting the grime off, and Aragorn had lots to get rid off. So very good of Pippin to make sure nothing was lurking arround.

Author Reply: Getting clean is a wonderful thing. And Pippin's mind and heart will be more at rest, now. Thanks, Grumpy.

I loved the mention of Halbarad. It must have been one of Aragorn's deepest regrets.
I also liked Pippin and Aragorn teasing one another about the tub and the fact that Pippin had to check the area in spite of everything.
Now if only Frodo can be convinced that he is not to blame for Aragorn's illness.

Another lovely chapter.

Author Reply: Thank you so much. The part in ROTK when Pippin runs up to Aragorn at the Houses of Healing, takes his hand, and calls him 'Strider' makes it obvious how much Aragorn means to him, but at the same time how 'hobbity' he will always speak with his friend.

Beautiful chapter due to the care and love of the Fellowship for each other... and Aragorn's brothers...

My heart was broken, needless to say, for Pippin... To know that he has been so changed because of what they have lived through... Brings a lump to my throat but also makes me so proud of the little one.

Thanks for writing this!

Author Reply: I think they were all changed, to some extent, but Pippin will be a stronger and more confident steward of his beloved Shire because of his experiences.

Thank you for reading.

I miss Halbarad!(sob) Great chapter! Update soon please!
God Bless!

~Szepilona10~

Author Reply: I miss him too! I loved writing a whole story ("Force of Nature") in which he interacted happily with the pre-Quest hobbits. I think he must have been very special for Aragorn to have been so overjoyed to see him in TTT (the book).

And... thank you! I'll update as soon as I can.

Nonetheless, he realized that Pippin needed to check for himself that his king and friend was safe.

Knight of the City, indeed! That's our Pippin, always on duty and very protective of Aragorn.

Aragorn enjoyed his bath, it seems. That's good. But he can't stop worrying about Frodo, whereas Frodo can't stop worrying about Aragorn. That's the problem with those two.

Maybe, the little feast will provide them with some distraction! I really hope so.

Author Reply: I can absolutely imagine Pippin standing by Strider, no matter what.

Yes, I think a feast is definitely in order to distract everyone. Those hobbits are so clever.

It will trouble Aragorn for a long while that he lost Halbarad.

I hope they all get to have an enjoyable evening :-)

Author Reply: So do I! I need to get to work on that.

Thank you, Pearl.

Very enjoyable, as usual. Even though Frodo is obviously having guilt issues, and Aragorn has problems, himself, I still love that the whole premise of the story is based around love and caring. All your writings are, really, even the darker ones. You are one of the only writers that I truly feel the sense of fellowship all of these characters had with one another. So beautiful.

I'm glad Aragorn has learned humility. It's alright to accept help when you are down. :) It's wonderful to see Pippin on his guard and to be taking his duties so seriously.. I can only imagine how heart broken he would be if something happened while he was on watch. But even with duty is still that sense of love.. which just makes it all the better.

I'm rereading LOTR right now for my college class (best college class ever, I would have you know), and the whole bathing scene and talk of baths reminds me of the scene at Crickhollow, with all the singing and such. So very joyful.

So yes. I'm still reading and still loving it, even if my reviews are rather sporadic. As always, looking forward to the next installment.

Author Reply: I appreciate that very much, Suvi. It's the bond between these unlikely friends -- including respect, loyalty, courage, resilience, and what they can learn from one another -- that makes LOTR such a rich and deep story in which to find endless inspiration.

How wonderful to be re-visiting Middle-earth for a college class! :D

I've not read Aragorn actually taking a bath in too many fics---at least, not when he's practically an invalid---and enjoyed this *immensely.* Words cannot convey. Eee, hair washing!!!

I loved it all, especially his considerate washing before actually entering the bathtub so that the hobbits could have clean water. So sweet---and I can just picture said hobbits fighting over that bathtub. Well, maybe not---didn't we read that it would fit them all at once? Hee.

I really enjoyed every bit of Aragorn's weakness---I'm so glad his recovery is slow. ;D So delicious, seeing him swaying and his knees buckling, I tell you.

I'm really looking forward to Aragorn's talk with Frodo . . . and I wonder just how he'll convince that stubborn hobbit that his guilt is unfounded.

Author Reply: You encourage me, Lily! I'm dying to get the story back to Frodo, but just couldn't rush Aragorn through his long-awaited bath.

I need to give their talk some serious thought. If only there were more hours in the day to do nothing but think about hobbits and rangers... as you well know. *hugs you*
