The curse was hilarious. I could just see poor Gimli running across Rohan barefooted...

Oh I did like this one. It is interesting to try and imagine how the Elves felt about Gimli when there was so much unresolved between the Dwarves and their race.

I especially enjoyed the lovely touches of humour in this chapter.

*sigh* There is a depth here like the mystery of the Dwarves themselves. I've always liked the Dwarves and Gimli in particular. Wonderfully done again, Virtuella!

That is a good image to symbolize Gimli. A deep, clear mountain lake filled with freshly melted snow. He was so pleased to be able to look into the lake outside Moria. The maidens seem to see what Galadriel saw in his heart; love not for treasure, but for kin and friends and his home. Again, you have written a blessing perfect for Gimli. I am curiously looking forward to what you do with Boromir. That will be a challenge, I think. Author Reply: Thank you. I actually think Legolas is a bigger challenge than Boromir. I reread FOTR in preparation for this story and I found a fair amount of characterization for all the others, but not for him. He is just your "generic elf". For example when they are discussing whether or not to go through Moria, everybody gives a reason for their choice, expresses feelings about it etc, apart from Legolas, who only says: "I do not wish to go to Moria." There isn't even an indication of his tone of voice or facial expression. He is so bland I found it hard to get a handle on him. Knowing that so many people have taken a fancy to him didn't help either...

Another marvelous blessing which worked its wonders! Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Thank you very much!

How wonderful to see this blessing for our Gimli. And so joyous a blessing it proved in the end, both for the two races and for Gimli itself. Author Reply: Thanks for your continued interest! ;-)

So far, every single blessing you have come up with has been utterly perfect for the character in question! I enjoyed the bit of banter and teasing at the beginning, and how one of the maidens was horrified by the teasing. Your maidens are beginning to develope their own personalities! Author Reply: Thanks, I'm glad you find that. By the end, they should all have emerged as discernable individuals.

Galadriel's maidens are clear sighted and good hearted. She chose well those who would weave and bless these cloaks. Author Reply: Thanks. I hope they don't come across as too omniscient. One would have to argue that either Galadriel chose them because of their keen minds, or else that Galdriel's own powers have rubbed off on them a bit.
