Tell me it is not Glorfindel who did this horrible thing to Frodo. That would be beyond aweful. This is so excellent; I do hope there will be more.

What a burden for Elladan to bear. Knowing that he probably saved Frodo's life and the Ring from falling into the wrong hands did nothing to ease the guilt he felt in having to kill one of his own. It seems that it just couldn't be helped. Tari Author Reply: No, Tari, it couldn't be helped... if Frodo was to survive. Never mind the Ring. Personally, I don't think Elladan gave much thought to the Ring, but more to the Ringbearer... supposedly safe in his father's care... Elladan will survive this... but will be changed... as will all Imladris!

I'm glad you have continued this! And that Frodo has been found!! Yea! Please write more soon! *hugs Sam for raising the alarm* Namarie, God bless, Antane :) Author Reply: Oh dear - I really, really cannot start another story... though Sam HAS been grumbling that he'd prefer a chapter all to himself.... if the Muse will let me finish one of my other stories, perhaps we'll get a third chapter... Oh good grief, if I give Sam his own, then Merry and Pippin will want one too! Never ending mess! Bless you though, and thanks ever so much for reviewing!

Well, that was chilling. Especially the conclusion - but again, have not all Kinslayings started with the best intentions? Author Reply: I am sure those involved would say that, Soledad.... *chilling thought* Thanks for reviewing - most appreciated!

A scary what-if. I don't want to know who the Elf was, really... The way the ring corrupted his mind - gradually, then rapidly - felt so true-to-life. Again, scary. Possibly I shall not read that part of the book again without some bit of dread at the might have beens! This second chapter was a good addition; at least he did not get away with his deed. But poor Elladan! That was a sad ending… but perfect. -Kitt Author Reply: Thanks, Kitt. Most appreciate your comments. I keep trying to 'see' who the Elf was... it is disturbing... but the Muse refuses to let me know - perhaps some day??? As for might have beens - they can be horrid.... or good (Boromir lives???) Again - thanks for reading and especially for commenting!

Ai, poor Elladan! No matter how much he *had* to do what he did, he will always feel the guilt. And the nameless elf would have been long known to the sons of Elrond, and probably a friend as well. This is an excellent addition to the original story! (And a perfect entry for a certain challenge ...) Jay Author Reply: Thanks, Jay - high praise coming from someone who 'knows' Elladan! I still don't know who the Elf was... but you are correct, he was definitely a friend, a trusted friend... this shook the entire world of Imladris... for they all must have been close in friendship and trust! Bless you for the kind words! (certain challenge?)

A kinslayer, perhaps; but freeing one who had just become enslaved to that which ought not to sully any Elf. Alas for Elladan. Author Reply: Oh my Larner! I never thought of that - yes, the Elf was freed in death... I hope Mandos treats him with care... Drat! Perhaps that thought might help Elladan heal??? Bless you and thanks for the reply and the new thought!

Oh, Elladan, to liken yourself to one of Feanor's followers who killed their kin at Alqualonde, no child you are not one of them. What you did was done to prevent a greater evil. If you are a Kinslayer, then every Elf who ever killed an Orc is a Kinslayer!(since Morgoth twisted Elves into Orcs) Lynda Author Reply: Yes, Lynda. It is possible that Elladan will be swayed from such a degrading thought... I believe Elladan's whole being was bent on saving Frodo - not so much the Ring... I think of this Elf as being wholeheartedly good... and to see such a little one, so young in the Elf's eyes, abscounded - Yikes! Bless you for your kind words... the Muse appreciates them as I am sure Elladan does!

This was exciting and an interesting take on things. And, of course, leave it to dear Samwise to be on top of things as usual. ;o) Author Reply: Of course Sam would notice right away - poor thing to have fallen asleep and then left to berate himself for leaving his Master open to such an abduction! You know he will never forget it and will watch Frodo even more carefully. I see no sleep in the future for our dear Gardener! Bless you and thanks for the kind words!
