Many Meetings  by lwarren 6 Review(s)

I loved your OCs here.Their suspicion was all too true to life.

Author Reply: It seemed to me that the people of Gondor were out of touch, so to speak, with the elves. And they were SO different...a sure thing to cause suspicion among the general populace. I did like Conn, though...he's just rather intimidated by everything about the elves. I'm glad you enjoyed the story, Linda. Thanks for the review.

Oh another treat, and this time we see Legolas as Lord of Ithilien and meeting and beating suspicion with his considerable charm and understanding, Conn doesn't know how fortunate he is to have had this help with the pointed ears arriving as it did.
Thank You for this
Judy

Author Reply: Hey Judy! Thank you for the kind review. I enjoyed having Legolas help Conn deal with his suspicions and overcome them enough to accept help from his neighbors (of the pointed ears! LOL). The Prince has had some experience with this in his dealings with the men of Esgaroth (at least in my universe, that is! I hope to detail some of those dealings in the future! *g*) Thank you again!

I think I have read this one before - did you post it in the AA group some time ago? In any case, I still love it. The interaction between Conn and Legolas and how you describe Legolas here is just so beautiful. I would certainly welcome the elves with open arms! *g*

Author Reply: You are so right, Tinu! You have read this on the AA group, probably about 3 or 4 months ago. I'm glad you still enjoyed it - I did do some editing on it, so it read a little smoother, at least in my opinion. As for Conn, I fussed at that boy the whole time I was writing, telling him not to look a gift elf in the mouth...or ear :-)! LOL He has a hard head, though. I'm glad the Prince was able to talk some sense into him! Thank you again for the review!

Oh what a delightful tale! I've missed your writing greatly! I'd forgotten how engaging your characters are. :) Bring on more, meldis!!!

Author Reply: Hey NiRi! Thank you so much for the review - I enjoyed the family in this story, even if Conn wouldn't take my word for it that the elves were ok!:-) I do plan on writing more; thank you so much for the encouragement!

A wonderful way to find new friends, and to overcome fears of other races.

Author Reply: Thank you Larner. Conn just needed a 'close encounter' to put his fears to a final rest. He was just a tad intimidated, you see...And they do turn out to be the best of neighbors...but that is a story for another time. :-) Thank you again for the kind review.

It strikes me that lots of people are afraid of the magical and uncanny and elves might look that way to men. So I think it's realistic that Conn's first instinct would be to fear elves. This is a nice moment, when he's strong and brave enough to recognize kindness when he sees it, even in someone so different.

Author Reply: Hello, daw! You know, Conn was a brave warrior for Gondor during the war and I couldn't figure out why he was so insistent about keeping the elves at arm's length, especially when his home and family were at risk. What you say in your review is true - the elves must have seemed so far and above the average mortal, what with their immortal selves and unearthly beauty. It took awhile for Conn to get past that, but he finally did and made some valuable friends. Thank you for the review, daw!
