You did a fine job of portraying the nobility of the Rangers in general and Strider in particular, as well as the isolation, loneliness, frustration, and fear that all come with such a duty as theirs. | What a lovely, poignant glimpse of the life of Rangers! I really enjoyed the details of this--very evocative from the first sentence forward. I love how you contrast the life of those they protect with the life they themselves lead--the Dúnedain really are above lesser men, and Aragorn in particular. Well done! | |

| Oh my. First, this is gorgeous in its evocative details. The descriptions are fantastic and speak not only of a facility with words but also of a sharp observation of the world. | Gosh, this is beautifully written. You have such a gift for description and setting. Aragorn stands out here as such a solitary, pensive, compassionate and yet powerful figure. Author Reply: Thanks, Meckinock. It's great to know that people like it - I'm still at the not sure stage myself. I started and restarted this a good half dozen times trying to find a way to explore what a Ranger actually does. Sometimes Aragorn was there, sometimes not. Finally, I came up with this combined structure - and I'm very pleased to hear that people think it worked. | |

| This was wonderful. I don't quite understand all of what is happening, but I do know that I like it... I like these snippits of Aragorn's life as a Ranger. Well written, and well done. Author Reply: Thank you! Like most of my stories there is no real plot - just images. | |
