| Excellent tie-in to your other tale. Poor Boromir, not knowing what his father has seen or why he and Faramir are so fearful for him. But Denethor has not paid enough attention to the fact that the boat was, as he recognized, of Elven make. And there is reason for Boromir to avoid returning through Rohan. | |

| Denethor whishes he shared in the dream! I think he has enough on his plate without sharing Faramir and Boromir’s dream. Denethor thinks the palantir is doing his bidding. How sad. If that were true, he would be able to see anything he wished to see, including where his sons were. They think they are protecting Boromir when truth be told; they have sent him to his doom. I see I have a lot of catching up to do. I think this is where I left off. If not, I’ll just be rereading, but that is fine with me. I love this story. Author Reply: Thanks for continuing on. | Having to decide which son to send into danger is beyond imagining. Who else could he send; certainly not himself. This is one decision I would not want to make. Then there is the Palantir. He thinks it his friend and obeys him. Not. Poor Denethor. He thinks he is saving Boromir when in fact, he is sending him to his doom. I liked the brothers taking time to lie in the grass, look at the sky and dream a little before erupting into a mild tussle. Too bad there is no time for more episodes like this. Author Reply: I too wish there were more time for the brothers Mir to enjoy each other's company. This was a rare day indeed - but who could not give them that moment, considering what was next? As for Denethor - yup - definitely between a rock and a hard place. Thanks for the review! | |
