So sad a thing--what he could have been compared to what he became. Thanks for posting this here now. Author Reply: I was looking over past reviews and saw that I had missed replying to some! I am so very sorry! Maglor's life really was very sad with so much wasted unrealised potential. Thansk so very much for reading and reviewing!

This is a bleakly beautiful piece. You capture Maglor's anguish perfectly. I love how the imagery follows the same arc as The Silmarillion itself; glorious beauty turns to conflict, which in turn gives way to ruin. The symbolism was stunning. Kinslaying lightning, mud like blood, clothing like bandages. Perfect. Author Reply: I was looking over past reviews and saw that i had missed replying to some! I am so very sorry! I'm pleased that you appreciated the imagery and the flow of the story. I felt that a music metaphor was most appropriate for describing Maglor. Thanks so very much for reading and reviewing! Sorry this reply was so late!

Very sad, with a dramatic and well-written ending. Author Reply: I was looking over past reviews and saw that i had missed replying to some! I am so very sorry! I'm glad you liked Swan Song. I think using a music metaphor is an appropraite way of describing Maglor in his celebration of the life he knew and in the description of his defeat. Dischrdant, untuned, unstrung.
