This almost, /almost/, makes me kind of ok with the Tauriel/Kili thing. Still not within the context of The Hobbit, but elsewhere within middle earth I can see an elf/dwarf coupling mirroring that of Yavanna and Alue.

What a beautiful poetic story!I love the idea of dancing things into being lik the Hindu legend of Shiva's dance of endless renewal. Author Reply: Song and dance have always gone hand in hand, throughout human existence, I think. That these two would have indeed danced and sung so much into being just seemed so right! Thanks so, Linda!

A particularly lovely piece; blending high language and power with suggestions of tenderness and sensuality. I love the use of song here; it works so well with Tolkien's use of music and of course, The Song. Well done! Author Reply: I'm so glad I managed to communicate the moods I'd intended, Raksha. This was written with the theme of music in mind, and of course I found myself thinking also of THE Song. Thanks so for the feedback.

Lovely, Larner! Reading that, I can see them singing all these things into being. Very appropriate for Yavanna und Aulë. Author Reply: Oh, I'm so very glad you agree, Kitty! I found I rather liked writing this one.

Ooh, lovely! Valarin romance fics are so few and far between. Author Reply: Again, am please it pleases. One thing the ALEC challenges has done--they've had me reaching beyond my more normal areas of writing! And this one was to include music somehow.... Thanks for the feedback.

Oh, this was lovely Larner! On the surface, it would seem that Yavanna and Aule are opposites--nature versus artifice. But you show how they compliment each other: no aritifice without the raw materials nature provides, and artifice enables nature to increase its bounty even more! Wonderful! Author Reply: I am so glad you like it, Dreamflower! It was interesting trying to figure out how to meet the challenge--I'd intended originally to post the Hurin/Lynesse story there, you see--but it grew in the telling, and by that time the character of Lynesse could have given away who wrote the story. And Aule and Yavanna were well paired, I think.

That's just beautiful. What a glorious way to describe the intertwining of soul-mates, and the joy of these early days. Author Reply: Am so glad you think so, Shirebound! I am honored, and they must have rejoiced indeed to share in the preparation of the world for the coming of the Children.

Just lovely, Larner. I suspected it was Yavanna and Aulė before I got to the end. For all their differences in temperment and interests, they greatly complement each other. And their dance goes on.... Author Reply: Am so glad you enjoyed it, Fiondil--and indeed their dance goes on! Thank you so!
