Noooooo! You can't stop there! Please, please, more, quickly! I love this story. It has so many great characters to follow and threads to want resolved!

You've doubtless heard from others on this but just a quick check-in to see if you ever have plans to complete this story. I was not a fan when I read it originally because I've always felt there neededto be more, not less, openness about the challenges we face, and so Frodo felt a little too defensive for me. Still, a little older and a little .... less radical, and I'm very curious to see what happens here, particularly with an attack as the now eight-year cliffhanger. Thanks loads for your hard work on this tale so far and in advance for picking it back up again.

So I've just treated myself to a full re-read of this lovely story, but I'd forgotten what a cliffhanger you left it on! Never mind, it's such a joy to immerse myself in the wonderful detail and depth you created for us in the Master's world. Author Reply: I hope to get "Stirring Rings" finished and return to a few others. I hope you appreciate I do intend to finish this--eventually! Thanks!

I was in the mood to re-read this so far as it went! I forgot you stopped with a cliffie! I don't supposed you'll be updating anytime soon? (This really is such an intriguing story!) Author Reply: I am desperately trying to finish Stirring Rings first, but am sitting on the kidnapping of Celebrian at the moment, and am finding it difficult to write, just as I found in this story it was hard to choose which alternative would happen to Bob's older son. It will be addressed, hopefully before I die, at least! Heh!

wow? love love this story! when are you going to update? I can't wait to see reaction of Ferny and Angrapain when they face the Rangers! Author Reply: As I've commented to others, I am planning to finish this--once I've finished with "Stirring Rings," which I have most of the next chapter outlined by now and hope to have written and posted soon. But I've had another little nuzgul pretending to be a simple plot bunny attack me, and I'm having to deal with it at the moment. Aargh! So many ideas, so little time and energy at the moment! Heh!

Hi Larner, Just discovered this story, and read it right through. Not sure how I missed it before, but I'm so glad to be able to enjoy it now. I particularly love how well you draw your characters, how distinct and unique each one is, and how believably they deal with one another. You've made me really care about them, and now I'm worried about what happens to the Hedges! If there's any chance you can continue with this story, I'd love to encourage you (though I certainly know how fickle muses can be....) Very well written, Larner! Thank you for sharing your prodigious talent with us. - Barbara Author Reply: There are three stories I've left abandoned for far too long--this one, Stirring Rings, and Or Perchance. I promised I'd finish Stirring Rings first, and then probably Or Perchance, and finally this one. I'm at a sort of sticking point in this one--does or does not Holfast survive the assault by the escaped prisoners? What's your take on the situation? I too have come to love the Hedges and grieve at the thought of such a loss to them. Thanks, Barbara. I finally am on new territory with Stirring Rings, having just sent the next chapter regarding Nimrodel and Amroth off to Fiondil for betaing. Next comes a brief glimpse of Mithrellas and Imrazor the Numenorean, and then the loss of Earnur. It should be interesting to see how those three chapters are received.

You are evil! You finally update Tenant, and now leave us trembling with fear for Boboli's family. I just hope when work decides to spit me out next time Halladan & Co have already dealt with the issue. ;) Author Reply: Sorry about that, Soledad. And how long it will take to write the next chapter I can't say as yet. Heh!

Yes! I despaired of ever seeing another update of this story. And now we're seeing Angrapain again. Slimey character (and I'm being polite *grin*). I love it that a whole contingent of Rangers led by Halladan are there. He's one of my favorite of your OCs, btw, and I always love to see him in action, either as a Ranger or as Steward for the Northern Realm. I look forward to another chapter soon. Author Reply: It's taking time, but wanted to sort of coordinate the latests chapters from Tenant and Rings, so this one has been delayed--plus holidays and trying to weed out all the plot bunnies and nuzguls that are infesting the place! I can't tell what some of them want me to do yet, and it's getting more and more difficult to tell the young nuzguls from the adolescent plotbunnies, I'm finding--either that, or they're continuing to pass those ear headbands about! Am so glad you like Halladan--I, do, too, of course. And the next chapter will come when it will, I suspect. As long as I don't go almost a year again between updates! Gaack! Thanks so very much, Fiondil.
