Yes, drugged and soon to be lost, perhaps? And Grima slew Aunt Indis, did he? Sounds right for the creep! Excellently presented intrigue. Author Reply: Thank you so much for the encouraging words! I'm afraid Boromir will have a tough time for a bit - ....

I was nervous when the horse disappeared but now I'm really worried. I wonder if it is Wormtongue that means to harm Boromir or a certain eaves-dropper from earlier. Either way, I fear Boromir will need help if he is to get out of this alive. Author Reply: There is no way, that I can see, for our beloved Gondorian to get out of this alone... Yet, who knows where he is but those who took him??? Drat...

If I were Boromir, I would have left Meduseld immediately upon discovering that my horse was missing. As for Grima, why Boromir would accept a drink from him is beyond me. The creature is indeed a "snake", and a poison one at that. Author Reply: Well, Tari - he needs to get a horse. He can't walk all the way to Rivendell... *giggles* though the poor man loses the horse at Tharbad and actually walks all the way from there!!! Well - Boormir wasn't going to accept the drink - but when the servant popped in and topped it off, and knowing servants have a way of 'testing' the fruit of the vine, he assumed it was safe. However, he didn't realize that Grima has such a vast network working with him in Edoras. He does now!!! What is that definition of assume????? *sad smile* Thanks for reviewing!

When Gríma put the wine before Boromir, I was shouting, 'Don't drink it! Don't drink it!' Oh, Boromir - you know he's a poisoner! I rarely read stories with Boromir or set in Rohan (I rarely read anything without elves in it!) but I'm glad I clicked on this. I like the intrigue and mystery, and no-one knowing who they can trust. And poor Théodred being sent to the Fords of Isen. *sniff* We all know what happens to him there ... Author Reply: I was shouting the same thing - he definitely considered not drinking it till the servant came in and topped it off. He probably thought he was being paranoid. Better paranoid than dead!!! Shees. Thank you much - I was hoping, even though Grima seems to be behind this, that the element of mystery is there. Let's not think about the Fords - drat.... Very glad you stopped by - and no, I don't believe there will be any Elves in Edoras at this time... oh - that sounds like a fun title 'Elves in Edoras' - No - go away nuzgul. Blessings!
Tithenaru | Reviewed Chapter: 2 on 1/29/2009 |
You have created a great sense of the atmosphere at Meduseld, just how I imagine it would be before people began to question Grimas hold over the court. Poor Boromir, he was right to be suspicious of the wine - what a pity he changed his mind. What is going on? Where is his horse? I can't wait to find out Tithenaru Author Reply: *giggles* very glad you are intrigued by the tale... It seems odd that things got sooooo out of control, but Sauruman's master, Sauron, even fooled the Numenoreans! After all, something had to happen to Boromir's horse; when Eomer meets up with the Three Hunters he says the horse THEY gave him came back riderless...... Bless you for reviewing!
