Merry is a sly one. This promises to be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to finding out what will happen next. Author Reply: Merry is, but he's not the only fox. He'll have plenty to distract him too. ;) Next part should be up soon! Thanks for reading, dear! It's so wonderful to hear from you again. :D

Ah, here we go again. Someone is going to wind up naked. LOL I wonder who will get the honour this time? I'm looking forward to Merry's plotting and Frodo's counter-plotting. Oh, and I love the "Field of Dreams" bit with Pippin, (“I’m sure if they built it, people would come,” Pippin said. “The same holds true for golf courses.” ) Author Reply: hehehe Now, really, the hobbits can prank each other without someone winding up nekkid. Of course, it wouldn't be quite as much fun. ;) Pippin is a visionary. *imagines Aragorn looking over city wall to see long line of hobbits approaching* :D

This ought to prove quite entertaining and distracting toward all--as well as possibly somewhat terrifying! When a Brandybuck and a Baggins square off, it can be touch and go as to how many other lives are going to be touched upon, and how deeply! Heh! Now, to see the challenge met! Author Reply: Distractions all around - terrifying is yet to be seen. hehe True, true, but they are more mature now than the last time they squared off, so things shouldn't get (too) out of hand. ;)

This is shaping up to be great fun. Each hobbit's personality was captured perfectly in dialogue. Pass me a lemon bar, please! Hee. Author Reply: Frodo and Merry at war can be a scary thing - but also amusing. We'll see what happens once things start moving. ;D Lemon bars - Frodo would be mad *not* to enjoy them. :)

Oh. My. *grins ear to ear*fetches popcorn*sits back to wait for the fun* *grins some more* Author Reply: :D Our lads haven't grown out of their mischieviousness just yet, it seems. They still have some tricks up their sleeves. ;)

“Even as he plans his retribution, I’m planning my retaliation. So even if he scores a point or two, he’ll lose in the end.” He and Merry bowed their heads politely at each other, the challenge accepted, then Frodo went back to his lemon bar. LOL, a most wonderful and rare conversation at the King's Table! (And I can't imagine how a golf course happened to sneak in there.) I do love your single-minded hobbits! Author Reply: Conversation at the King's table will seem dull and trite once the hobbits leave the city. ;) Pippin is very single-minded and he's not quite as innocent here as it would appear. ;)
